Totally new styles +weopons
I think Midway should have multiple motion capture people. This is so that Midway can get more real life styles in the game. I think Midway should hire some martial artist and weopon experts for MK.A. This would be allow for more individuality since there are 60 characters and for KAK characters too. This thread is to discuss styles and weopons Midway could use for Armaggedon. The main topic of this discussion is to find styles and weopons for all characters, not a specifc one. It okay to find some for a specific characters, but keep it to a minunim. I would like this to be a ofical stickied thread so all the styles and weopons idea's are in one thread, but i cant do that becuase i'm not a mod.
Here are some weopons http://www.gungfu.com/cart-htm/weapons_chinese_weapons_traditional.htm
By the i didn't find that link myself. I'm not taking credit for finding( i dont want to piss anyone off)

You are right but maybe old weapons are not compatible witht he game. But when you talk about midways to hire some martial arts experts to make the characters that should be great.
But i think they are not going to make that Because it going to be expensive, Imagine to have like 45 martial arts experts working in each different style. That is crazy

They dont need to get a different martial arts expert for each style. Instead of hiring 45 for each style, they could just get 23 martial art experts that know and have mastered 2 or 3 styles. It would cost Midway less, and make the fans happy

I honestly think they might. This is because i think Midway is betting on MK:A to redeem Mortal Kombat so people will buy the next-gen Mk games. MK:A gets as bad fan reaction as MK:DA and MK:D did, the next-gen MK games are doomed.I dont think Midway will want to risk one of there prime franshizes. In short, if MK;A does well, then the demand for Next gen MK games will go up, making Midway more money. ANd Midway probably could hire a few more martial arts experts for Mk;A, and MK games in general

Well maybe they hire some but. Maybe they will focus on this in the next gen MKs. I dont think people will stop playing MK. Because of Midways not hireing Martial Art Experts. Well maybe some poeple think the game suck but I will keep on playnign MKs.
If the Hire The Martial Arts Experts i will be very happy to see midways doing such a good game.

At the very least, it would get more bad hype. And Mortal kombat already has enough of that. If MK:A bombs, then the first next gen game would have to be amazingly good to redeem the Mk series. If MK:A gets good hype, this will translate into more sales, and and the first next gen MK wont have to be super good

Good Point. But I think that if MK:A is goignt o be good The Next -Gen MK should be better cna you imagine a game for PS2 the same or a only a bit better than a PS3 game??? I Cant Imagine That...

Well, let me say this...If they're going to implement the different martial arts styles, they need to do a better job of it.

new MK exclusive martial arts that should be intrduced
-Tekunin (sektor)
-Lin Kuei (Frost or Sub)
-Unknown (for a boss character-maybe blaze?)
-Wraith (noob)
-Shurai Ryu (scorpion)
-Red Dragon (movado and hsu hao)
-Black Dragon (kano, kabal, Kira, Kobra, Jerek)
-Chaos (Havik)
-Seido (Hotaru)
u see where im going with this?, they can make fighting styles to go with characters from scratc instead of searching for an existing one that fits them.

i totaly agree
Imo total bullshit. I would completely destroy the validity of the characters. For Moloch and Drahmin I can understanda their own styles since their metahumane build.
-Tekunin (sektor) -no such thing.
-Lin Kuei (Frost or Sub) -no such thing.
-Wraith (noob) no such thing.
-Shurai Ryu (scorpion) Shirai ryu is a clan name, it's syntax is of a name,
not a martial art. there is shirai style however, it is
strictly for small kunai throwing objects I recall.
-Red Dragon (movado and hsu hao) - there is Red Long Fist
-Black Dragon (kano, kabal, Kira, Kobra, Jerek) -nope.
-Chaos (Havik) -ah zeah, prime example of fantasy stereotyping.
-Seido (Hotaru) -you mean Seido-ryu? It is an older karate style.
-Tekunin (sektor) -no such thing.

I actually have to agree with Chrome on this one.
Regarding Shirai Ryu, yes, it is a Shurikenjutsu style. However, when it comes to some Chinese and Japanese martial arts, there is more than one style with the same name. For example, in Chinese martial arts, there's Hua Chuan (Flower Fist), which Ermac uses, and Hua Chuan (China Fist). In the case of Shirai Ryu, there is an old Ninjutsu style called Shirai Ryu. It was one of the oldest of the 73 Ninjutsu Ryu-Ha along with Hakuun Ryu, Negishi Ryu, and Shinto Ryu. Shirai Ryu Ninjutsu is of course extinct as Togakure Ryu, Gyokushin Ryu, and Kumogakure Ryu are the only real existing Ninjutsu styles left.

i can agree totally, i was just pointing out that it would save time to create styles for the chars that fit them than to search for an existing 1.

Well, you can't really just a bunch of arbitrary moves in can you? Although...*remembers the moves in Drahmin's styles..* Well..maybe...but it wouldn't be a good idea. Whether putting in a real martial arts style or making one up, thought has to be put into applying it into the game. I mean, if they were to make up such styles for those characters, they need to think about moves in that style that would suit that particular character. So what I'm saying is that either way, it's still going to be time consuming.

They need to brng in some guy like Sub-Zero_7th who knows his shit about martial arts and have him tell them how to implement the martail arts. And he could also tell them styles that would fit characters.
