Rather than have 20 threads on the same subject, I decided that it'd be better to have it all in one discussion and close off the other threads (they all have few responses, and the biggest one's gone off-topic to discussing the selecyt screen anyway).
So, there's the possibility that Noob-Smoke will make their team return, but at the same time, the picture could just be a place-filler (at least that's what I'm hoping for). I would like to see the characters seperated, especially if there's the chance that neither of them will be in the next fighter. Let's have Smoke bask in his own glory one last time, and have Noob Saibot try to take over everything while there's enough chaos to distract everyone.
Just a quick thing though... What if one has the option of playing as them together or seperate? Think about it; play as them in MK:D mode, or have them with their own seperate portraits on another part of the select screen. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that.

Thats horrible, when you play as noob-smoke in mkd, it just doesn't feel like you get as in dept with either one of them as you'd like, plus it is really inconsitent with the rest of the game.
NO FORCED TAG TEAMS PLEASE!!! ITS NOT TOO LATE!!!
In other games like DOA, tag team is an option, maybe it made sense for the two to be togeter in the last game since they were a sub-boss, but come on.

Well, there is a chance that it will be Noob Saibot and Smoke, cause of that select screen thing i found out... But maybe that isn't even the select screen they will be using at all, maybe they make a new one, and Noob and Smoke will be seperate in it.
Notice that, the people on the select screen are only people who has been shown in trailers and such. All other unlockable characters have not been in game yet. So Noob Saibot and Smoke have a big chance of being apart.

Personally I'm not a big fan of Noob-Saibot or Smoke in MK3-4. In MKD though they took two characters that I didn't really like all that much and put them as a team and makeing them one of the best in MKD gameplay wise. So yeah Noob-Smoke became a fav for me to play with in MKD so so far I've liked them best as a team. That is why it won't terribly bother me if they remain just a team in MKA. Though I would prefer them to be seperate over being a team again just so they have their own bios and endings (and so so many fans don't complain like bitches). So overall I hope we wil lhave the option to play with them together and seperate, though I imagine we won't, so I'm hopeing for them to be seperate for reasons I said.

N/S was top tier in MK:D and was fun as hell to play but I really want them to be separated in MK:A.
I say we will have to wait and see, nothing is confirmed that they are officially together again.People are assuming things based on a demo select screen shot for E3 as well as it being totally unfinished.
A lot of these locked character slots are misleading in the way they look, some of them look confusing to tell who it is.

i was thinking like when you go to their icon you could hit L or L1 {if on ps2}
for smoke and R or R1 for noob then that way you could choose.

And the early select pic that appeared for MKD showed them as seperate characters. Things can change during development, and this is one I hope will. It isn't fair for the Smoke players who dislike Noob, and vice versa.
Someone mentioned in another thread that they felt the characters were being worked on one by one. I hope they're right, and they just haven't got to these two yet.

I only care about the MK ladies so meh about them. Just be glad theyre both are in the game and playable either way.

actually, character outlines are solid black outlines, zoom in on the right figure, its not solid, and the left is bald, my guess is that its blaze

I think that they will keep Noob-Smoke because the exit of Tobias. Since MKD, I believe that they cannot use the name Saibot anymore. Maybe I am wrong. Hope so...

You are wrong, thankfully; if you beat the game with Ashrah and Nob-Smoke, you'd have seen that in both endings, he's called Noob Saibot, full name.

Well, I'm not a great Noob Saibot fan or Smoke fan... Noob-Smoke was a good idea in MKD as a sub-boss, but MKA will be maybe the last MK where these two charactert will appear... So I think it would be cool if they were separate this time... :/

As of right now, the active select screen has them both together. I'm hoping that changes. I want them to be fully fleshed out rather then be handicapped with one another.

Can anyone that is actually at E3 mention this, confirm it, and then plead them to change it.
I think it's unanimous that we want all characters to stand alone, even for those who could care less about noob and smoke, it would still be tenfold better to have them stand alone.
They'd have their own weapon stance, and you could focus on that one character if you wanted to, instead of being forced to use both.
So please, anyone thats going to be there, ask and criticize, and give us an idea if this is a lost cause or not.

I have said that since the beginning but no one listens.
They should be together initially for story purposes. This isn't a forced tag team. The MKD story explains why Noob-Smoke is the way they are. Smoke is under Noobs control. Live with it.
However, give us the option to seperate them and play as them individually with seperate and new moves.

If mastermalone is to be believed, which he probably should be considering he's the closest thing we'll get to being there and finding out for ourselves, then Noob and Smoke are still a tag team character. If you look through his threads you'll find where he said that.
I wish it wasn't so, but apparently it is, so there you go.
