Interesting information was revealed during the E3 days, a bit of it was about Konquest and the surprising “verbal” confrontation between Sonya and Sektor.

*** From an article (Gamespot):

The final bit of the demo saw Taven escaping from his prison and trying to get off the warship while it was under attack from Sonya Blade's forces. In a nice geeky touch for fans, you'll hear Sonya and Sektor verbally facing off against each other over the ship's intercom while you go through its interior.

This is not the first time Sektor and Sonya are tied story-wise, directly or indirectly:

During the events of MK4 (Cyraxs ending), Sonya and Jax helped Cyrax recover his “humanity” and gave him the soul the cyber assassin so much desired, he then swore loyalty to his new friends and the SF. We know this ending happened thanks to MKDA.

But what about Sektors ending? We know it was not cannon or else they would had died, but we all know that some parts of most endings do happen. From his ending, we can assume he hates Cyrax as much as Sub-Zero for his “betrayal”, and he might as well loath Sonya and Jax for helping Cyrax abandon his original loyalties.

With MKTE being a cannon game, we all know about Sektors Tekunin army and force. He is now a dangerous threat to Earth realm, he seeks domination, he wishes to transform the world, this easily adds him to Sonyas long list of enemies along side the black/red dragons.

So what will Sektor do? If he IS being chased by Sonya and theres more depth to their interaction then just persecution, then there are some possibilities of seeing the Red assassin facing the blond chick in Kombat.

I think its safe to affirm that Sektors primary target is the LIN KUEI (Sub-Zero), but we also have the SPECIAL FORCES members who are making it hard for his plans to succeed (Cyrax who betrayed him, and Sonya and Jax, responsible for this).

In the end, will Sektor fight alone or along side the diverse organizations who despise both clans? WHO will he join:

- The Black Dragon (Huge possibilities with Kano or Kabal)
- The Red Dragon (Huge possibilities with Mavado)
- Frost (Enemy of both, Sub-Zero and Sonya)
- Sareena? (Who is she loyal too? Will she betray Sub-Zero or fight by his side)

---------------------------- (talking about Sareena:)
There are so many possibilities for Sareena, hopefully she can tie many characters into one story and lead to a big twist and confrontation. She has in her hands the power to manipulate Sub-Zero, the Lin Kuei, any of the red/black dragon clans, and even the Tekunin and Brothers of the shadow, this of course, if she decides to betray Sub-Zero.
-------------------------

If its not just for entertainment in Konquest, why is Sonya chasing Sektor? This is a "rivalry" that wasn’t developed to its full potential in Mk4/G, but with MKA there are good possibilities that we will see more of the *Sektor VS Sonya* confrontation.

He is a threat and She is a pain in his robotic ass, with Sonya on the way, his chances of leading his Tekunin for domination are not as good as they could be without her in the center of his game.....

Why was Sonya after Sektor in Konquest? Was it just for "fun"? Is there more to this?

It's a possibility. In my old storylines, I built the Tekunin up as a major threat to all the Earth-based clans and teams...Special Forces, both Dragon clans, and the Lin Kuei. It would culminate in a massive all out war of sorts with the clans...some enemies even aligning with each other against the greater threat Sektor represents.

I think Sonya and the Special Forces can be drawn into the Tekunin storyline via the threat to Earth it represents and Cyrax being a member of the Special Forces. However, I don't think Sektor has any personal vendetta against Sonya or the Special Forces...he just calculates them as a threat.
I do think Sub-Zero...even though he has his hands pretty full already with Noob Saibot and the Netherealm...should get involved because Sektor is his enemy and I do think Sektor, in a way, "hates" Sub-Zero.

The whole thing could end up tying together if Noob Saibot and Sektor were to form an alliance as some have suggested. Leading to a massive all-out battle with the Special Forces, Lin Kuei, Black Dragon, Red Dragon, Tekunin, and Brotherhood of the Shadow going at it in an all out war. I'm hesitent on that, but maybe it could work if done right. And it would compact the story more and make it more efficient.

Regarding Sareena, despite which alignment she ends up on....I think she should not betray Sub-Zero, but that's another topic....I think she should remained tied closer to the Netherealm and those related characters: Noob Saibot, Ashrah, Quan Chi, Drahmin, etc. While I want Sareena doing as much as possible, she already has a lot in story for her with the whole Netherealm situation. I also just have trouble seeing her involved to deeply with Sektor and cyborgs and whatnot.
Even if Noob and Sektor team together, I think Sareena should stay closer to the Netherealm side of the picture.

There's a lot going on and hopefully it'll be good because this could very easily turn into a total cluster-fuck.

I believe the Tekunin clan and Sektors story line in general have much potential to make his story expand in many directions growing to hate different people, i do not believe he is one for alliances but if i had to choose a person he is most likely to ally with, it will be frost, he will no doubt ally with somebody closely tied but has much hatred toward the Lin Kuei clan.

Sektors objective is to destroy subzero, not the Lin Kuei (that i know of)
and as long as he has an ally that vows to kill subzero FIRST, then he will most likely have no problem inserting Frost as the new Lin Kuei Leader and an Ally to the Tekunin, the alliance has some potential to go next gen but will remain unknown untill release, it is unknown if he will even ally with anybody.

As for Cyrax, im not to informed of his story line other than him wanting to go back home and Nitara helped him, unless he has another enemie to worry about, i can see him meeting up with or being attacked by sektor.

SPOILER***
In Konquest mode, Sonya and the SF attack the Tekunin warship, there is a possability that Cyrax traveled with Sonya hoping to confront his long time enemie, and if so, it will be a memorable battle.
END SPOILER***

As for other enemie possabilitys, I can see Allies of the Lin Kuei (if any) coming to their aid.

All in all, i hope he goes to next gen, and if not, then i hope he acheives at least one of his main targets death before dying.

Long Live the Tekunin.

May the Lin Kuei Rest In Peaces.grin

Excellent post both of you, great views on the situation. I only hope they do justice to Mks storyline in this “final” game.

Actually, in MKDA you learn that Sektor not only wants to finish Sub-Zero, but also the total domination of the Lin Kuei and the dragon medallion, he fought to win both things from Sub-Zero, but lost against him and vanished. He wishes to continue the corruption of the Lin Kuei for his own benefits.

Nice conclusion and I doubt they will develop this rivalry but it is definitely there as you have pointed out, the most we'll probably see is Sektor vs. Sonya on the intercom unless they take her mainstream story in this direction.

Good post queve!

I think this time the konquest mode is 100% canon so that rivalry should be present in the bios and endings, as well... who knowsconfused

Thanks.

I too, sadly, doubt we will see more depth. Theres just so much to do in this game, so many "wholes" to tie and put an end to.

Thanks man and I agree. Konquest could or might not be 100% cannon, but story parts like that are not there just for fun, so there has to be something cannon about it. Its important.
