I started with MK2 on the sega genesis when I was around six years old or so and I stopped playing MK when deadly alliance came out.

my cousin turned me on to mk when i was five (1994) now i've turned my 5 year old little bro onto it and he won't leave me alone so the cycle continues
i forgot about mk for awhile until i was 11 when i saw a mk2 machine i played it for awhile beat everyone who faced me then i saw an early preview for MKDA in a gamepro magazine i just about sh*t my pants and that sealed it i bought every mk game beat them with every charactor 100%'d deadly alliance then i got dissapointed with deception (too short) and armageddon IMO will be game of the year and i don't care what any body else says mka will be amazing

I still don't believe anyone who says they played MK before the age of 6, honestly - get real.
I bought MK1 for my Amiga in 1993, after playing the arcade on a school field trip (
) so I was 7. I'm still mad the monks didn't clap in the Courtyard in the Amiga version...

My first MK was MKII, right when it hit the arcades. I remember it being so utterly huge that the video rental store near my place brought in a machine. That was where I learned to play, the older kids teaching me the ins and outs. They soon learned I was a prodigy...the hard way.
Oh, god. I still remember that one day where someone claimed to have found a "nudeality" that could only be performed by Mileena on the Pit II in a third round using only low punch, having to take out the enemy's last bits of health in the last ten seconds of the round.
Good times. XD

Haha, peeps still don't believe me.
If only ya'll knew who I REALLY was
P.S. As for the "2 years" comment, it seems you believe games are created and released in a span of a couple of months. If that were true, we'd get Halo 3 (which they started working on WAY BEFORE that preview they showed at E3, btw) this year, but instead it won't be out until Fall '07, trust me.

I believe Late 92.
It's the first video game I ever liked. I never cared for the older nintendo games, always found them to be quite boring. But when I saw MK1, it blew me away.

Well, I'd say "imagine urself getting laid more often." was hardly creative itself; what with being the typical "get a life" comment used by nearly everyone when they make cheap digs.
Being laid is over-rated, a fist to the face is always better.

I've been playing Mortal Kombat since it came out on the consoles. Never even heard of it before then. A friend, and me where at a rental store looking for s SNES game to play, and he asked me if I've played it yet. I said I never even heard of it before, and he said we're renting this game you have play it, it's crazy.
