Now, we all know what's going on here, but for those of you who are new to the MK world, I'll recap:

Khameleon was a character unlockable only in the Nintendo 64 version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy. She was (and is) unique in the MK world as being the only brand-new secret character who had a storyline. In particular, that storyline described her as being the only other remaining member of Reptile's Zaterran race; her bio discussed this, and in her ending, after a successful search, she hooked up with Reptile to start their extinct race anew.

Now, while MK:DA mentioned her in passing (Failing one of Nitara's Kama missions) and MK:D's Reptile Trading Kard mentioned her as an ally to Reptile, the actual status of her storyline remains unknown. MKA was intended to not only include every character who'd ever thrown a punch in an MK fighting game, it promised to wrap up loose storyline ends,which is pretty much what Khameleon is - a great big unresolved plot thread. So obviously, the inclusion of Meat and Chameleon (the male), who never had a storyline, irked a great deal of people when it was announced that Khameleon would not be present in MKA.

Now, so far I've just run over familiar ground, but I now come to my point:

MK fans have, compared to other franchises, had a great deal of say in where the series goes. For example:

*We wanted to meet up with the guy on fire in MKII's background. After a long hiatus, MKDA gave that to us in the form of Blaze. And MKA's taking him a step further.

*Some of us wanted Cyber Smoke, some of us wanted Human Smoke. His two MKD costumes, as Boon said, were made as a way of pleasing both sides of the fanbase.

*We wanted an improved fighting engine. MKA is giving it to us.

*We wanted Noob and Smoke seperated. MKA is giving that to us.

*We wanted Meat and Chameleon. MKA is giving them to us.

*While some of us wanted him to stay a lizard, and some of us wanted him to become human again, nearly all of us wanted to see Reptile's Shaolin Monks costume in a fighting game. MKA is giving that to us.

And in terms of storyline, I believe it was actually a fan who originally came up with the idea that Noob Saibot was the first Sub-Zero, and communed with the MK team. Lo and behold, it got into the game.

And Shaolin Monks, while a fun game, had some major storyline problems. The fans viewed it as non-canon, more of a what-if storyline, and that is the general view taken towards it today.

So...if some of us want Khameleon so much, why don't we decide what happens with her?

KAK is more than likely giving us the tools for this, and as I understand it, you can even make your own bio for the character.

Assuming that the MK team is not just messing around with us and keeping her ultra-concealed...assuming she really, truly is not in MKA, as seems to be the case...

There's no reason to believe that we don't have the potential to make a Khameleon through KAK that everyone could accept in terms of storyline, appearance, and moveset.

We have the power to add her into the game ourselves, and decide "Yes, I think this should be part of the game and its story."

Of course, almost everyone might have their own views on what exactly she should be.

This is why we have the 'Kreate-a-Khameleon Kontest'. Everyone who wants to may submit their own version of Khameleon; appearance, moves, bio, etc, for the fans to muse over and judge worthy/unworthy.

The format is as follows: PM me your statistics and/or the URL of your KAF picture. I'm doing it this way rather than publicly on these forums because I'd rather no one slyly copied ideas from anyone else - we can all post our versions on the board after the first two rounds (more on those later). I'll be judging the best all-around individual Khameleon design first, her alternate second, and when those are over, we can all combine our ideas and see if we can whip up something truly mind-blowing. And I'll be sure to award DPs where necessary for that, too.

For the colors, We'll use a very simple, tried and true format: Colors are X across, Y down. So the upper left-most box is X1Y1, the one below that is X1 Y2, etc.

For facial statistics and sizes( and boobies, tee hee), we shall use a simple format from 0 being the smallest, and upwards to the max. So if Khameleon has the tiniest eyes possible, her eye size is 0. Pretty simple, I think. Plus one for every unit you add. :)

Something I also strongly suggest be done is that you let me know in a few paragraphs or so where you acquired your inspiration for the design, what made you give her which attribute, etc. That way I can see where you're coming from and judge accordingly.

And yes, there is the matter of her alternate costume. I've decided to implement a regulator on this, however: As most classic characters' alts tend to revolve around a previous incarnation of their design, so will be the case with Khameleon's. Her alternate should be something that brings the UMK3/MKT design schematic to mind, but is not a direct clone of Kitana, Mileena or Jade's. Show off your best spin on the old style!

There will be three rounds. As I stated earlier, there can, and will be, multiple winners for round three: Everyone who contributes to the final group-created design will share in the DP reward.

One can submit entries for both rounds. In the event that one person wins both rounds, an equal amount of DPs will be given to both first and second place of Round Two.
