Well, this is most unfortunate. I'm sure that Vogel is probably quite pissed, and I hope there will be some way of rectifying this problem, if even possible.

Although I may not be getting MK8, I'm glad to know that at least they want to go in a very dark and serious direction, bringing in as much newness as possible. I just hope the overall execution will be good enough.

Shame, ah well.

The Mortal Kombat team is focusing all of its resources towards development of the next Mortal Kombat game for next gen consoles. As, a result no additional MKA Bios are being created.

I am SEVERELY disappointed.

To the very end, I was asking, begging, demanding these bios and I was even content to have them throw them in every month (even if that would, in effect, take years.)

Ever since MK:Deception, the storyline has progressively gotten worse. There's not a Mortal Kombat fan alive who considers Shoalin Monks canon. And now, I'm not even going to consider MK:Armageddon canon. If well over HALF of the characters can't be explained or accounted for, how can it be? The slate has supposedly been wiped clean, but in effect, the storyline has become nonexistent. I am NOT happy.

My ENTIRE interest in MK8 lies in whether it will have a good story or not, fighting mechanics be damned. Fighting games come and go, but it's the characters we come to care about.

I'm not suprised.

Listen, this is slightly disappointing but "not the end of the world" would you rather Midway told the MK team to concentrate on a very good game in MK8 or concentrate on bios? Think people....

As subzer0the7th said, most likely it's Midway telling the MK team what to do. REMEMBER, MK team is NOT the head of things. They only make the games, they don't call the shots

Besides, I'm sure they'll ummm explain what happened in MK8's storyline...so I'm realy not too concerned.

This pisses me off. I hope they will find a way to still give us the rest of the bios, maybe include it in the content section of MK8.

I knew it would happen. Idc to be honest. But my point of WEAK is basically, don't start something you can't finish.

Figures. They didn't care enough to put them in the game itself, and most of the bios we DID get were weak fanfic crap, so it doesn't surprise me that they're not bothering to finish what they started. The ultimate insult, though, is if the next game is a continuation of Armageddon, and they don't bother to tie up any of the loose ends.

To be honest, if they really want to start with a "clean slate", then they should consider Armageddon non-canon and use the next game to wrap everything up. But, we all know that's not going to happen, so I guess MK is dead, now.

Well, combine this with the rumors of the next game being a versus type game I'm pretty sure I'll pass on the next MK game. The storyline is what brought me into the series in the early 90's, and now it's pretty much gone.

Half assed game. Half assed storyline. Half assed bio release. Most disappointing. But then that is them all over these days...

Who do we still not have any information about? I mean, withe the bios, endings, etc. I think everybody's pretty much covered as far as where they are within the context of MKA itself...

Well this sucks. I could rant, bitch and moan forever about this, but I'll be mature and just state that Midway and not the MK team took the legacy of Mortal Kombat, put in down on its knees and shot it in the back of the head. Mortal Kombat is officially dead and I hope to God that from the ashes a better and stronger MK arises to make us forget about this utter disappointment. This is definitely a dark day for us all.

It was a waste of time anyway.Cause the way i see it,if it wasnt in the game to begin with,then its not really part of the game.The bios don't mean anything to the people who don't have internet and people like me,i don't really care cause it didn't really make the game any better or worse and yea u know what,it was probably a waste of time anyway.They have better things to do with their time like make MK8 or whatever they do.I never really paid attendtion to them anyway,cause bios don't really do anything for a game anyhow.Oh btw SynjoDeonecros i like your kintaro pic up there,i remember seeing it in a gamepro mag long time ago.

disappointing but expected. Although I cannot figure out why SO much time and energy could go into creating simple bios, I suppose they need all the resources they can get for MK8. They were following a simple formula for the bios too: seperate the warriors one or two against eachother and detail their bios together (nitara and ashrah, for example).
I also assume this really DOES close the door on this whole generation of MK, which is SUCH a piss poor ending. They left the door wide open to a huge catastrophe taking place (all the warriors powers enhanced? Ohhh boy...), and they are going to completely ignore it by bringing in a whole new slew of characters in a whole new generation (just what MK needs...MORE new characters...sigh...).

We have been promised, screwed, lied to, screwed again with more empty promises while being lied to at the same time for so long, that this really doesn’t feel like a surprise, but it’s still a huge disappointment.

This game was supposed to be the final epic showdown story wise: We were promised finality, conclusion, tying up loose ends, etc etc etc, but we didn’t get any of that, well, at least for more then half of the characters of MKA...there is a huge story, a very interesting and complex one, and sadly, they didn’t deliver the final product they told us they would. MKA has/had so much potential story wise, at first it smelled ridiculous, but with the delivery of the online bios and how some of them tied to Konquest, wow, it felt great! But:

They lied again.

MKA was a mess in many many many huge ways, starting with the fact that they didn’t deliver a proper product with the well developed story/bios they promised, and ending with the fact that it seems they don’t care anymore, lying yet again that we would get the finality they promised from the very beginning.

How horrible and annoying. IT SUCKS!

Its almost like none of the other characters even matter now. Only those who got a decent/awesome bio and a part in Konquest. The rest are very unlucky.

Its like they aren’t even in the game, even if they have endings, because like we all know, almost all the endings of MKA were insulting, and even if there weren’t any bios, there just isn’t an excuse for such horrible writings, specially considering this was “the game that would end all”.

This sucks horribly.

So many characters, not one bio in the game, and only a few official bios online.....they screwed MKA in many ways, and by doing so, they screwed MK in general as well.

It might not be the end of the world, but this is definitely a huge disappointment, though like many, I'm not surprised...and people, that’s not good...at all. Are we really this used to all of these stuff?



Yeah, and it doesn’t come as a surprise that you are, yet again, defending Mk, and the team, etc. for their mistakes.

Before saying "ungrateful", please, think before you post, or at least elaborate. Really MKF, I have nothing against you, I always tell you this because I even defended you back in the old days, but you never seize to "amaze" me with the way you defend Mk and close your ears and eyes beyond everything just to ignore the facts. In these moments I understand what all the stupid fuzz was about in the past...when you got into your “fights” with others concerning the team and mk in general.

This just makes threads like this and others across many other MK forums that much more important for those who still care about MKA because these threads provide the only chance that some of the more popular mk characters are gonna have at getting their own bios.
