Yeah,he looks so similar to it

I don't know, they look similar but....different. In another thread I was about to mention that and how much it looked liked Bleed's concept but then when I saw it, I thought to myself that they didnt look as close as I previously thought.
On first thought I really did think that they looked alot alike but after seeing Bleed's again, I can see some major differences, like the arm guards for instence.

I kind of like the MKA's Rain look better though.

It's kind of similar, but it's not enough to say that Midway copied the design from bleed. When I look at Rain's new outfit, I'm kind of reminded of Mavado's alternate outfit in MK:DA.
Edit: After seeing Rain's picture on a much better monitor than my own, I can honestly say that he looks like a pallet-swap of Shredder-Sub-Zero. The costume's nice, but they made him a swap again!

I'm not saying they copied it, not at all. I'm just curious if they saw bleed's design and went along the same path. I think it's VERY cool if this were the case, I'm not bashing Midway or anything of the sort.

I'm not accusing you of saying that or bashing Midway, and I'm sorry if I made it sound as such, I was just saying that it's possible that they have seen his artwork and went along with a similar idea. Heck, it's possible that they have never even seen it and came up with a similar idea. I still think that it's similar to Mavado's second costume though.

Bleeds work is really cool (I like the 3d Rain!), but honestly, I don’t think the MKA Rain looks like his, at all...in any way. The outfits arent even similar.

I like Rain's new look. IMO it looks more like Deception Sub-Zero.
I like my Hero Machine made Rain better than bleed's, I don't like that grey thing on his Rain. I like the Middle-eastern feel mine has.

I love the fact that Rain is donning armor and has the ability to dual wield weapons. I always wanted him to be remade like that. For his weapons, is that a dagger in one hand and a long sword in the other or are they both daggers? I cant really tell...

Rain is no longer a joke character! Hoorah! I think he looks great. My idea for Rain was always to lose the hood and just don a half-mask with armor. I think they did a good job.

It seemed like every Rain concept pic I've ever seen imagined him going down a similar path, and this is no exception. When I saw it, it seemed all too familiar, though specific to none in particular.

Rain looks so badass. I hate him, but now that seems to have changed. I don't think he looks all that much like Bleed's design. I prefer the MKA one. It's now offical that all the male MK ninjas are no longer palette swaps of one another!

Man, that's old... and the model sucks, I need to remake him.
Anyway....
I like their design better, but I do see some similarities.
Some things are almost exactly the same and others are totally different.
Things that are the same.
1 = The use of a lot of gold and chrome.
2 = The gold outline around the loin cloth
3 = The separation / weight at the bottom of the loin cloth.
4 = The gold line along the outer side of his pants
5 = the white ninja sox
6 = The gold bands around the ankles
7 = The pillowy texture on the loin cloth
8 = The cloths hanging on the side of his hips
9 = The outline around the mask
10 = His knives look similar to the sword I made. It has a gold handle and has that curved shape.
Who knows, maybe they saw it and got some ideas.
That's all I wanted, well maybe that and a job.
It could have just been a coincidence, but damn, a 10 point coincidence???

I dont wanna sound up myself or anything, but ive always had reasons to belive they take ideas from fans, and possibly me included. One fake I made of Ashrah vs Tanya had Ashra doing almost the same projectile that they later put into MKD. And in my fake of Baraka vs Kenshi the bodies hanging off the buildings in the Konquest Netherrealm were also included in the final version of konquest.... fishy indeed.

Look, I really don't wanna seem like I'm bashing you dude, but I just don't see it.
You use the point of a "10 point coincidance" to make this all seem shady, but like, I think if one tried hard enough one could find dozens of similarities or differences for ANY 2 character designs.
I mean the majority of what's been mentioned has been no more then similar color schemes, which doesn't surprise me seeing as since purple and black are Rain's pre-set colors, there's no changing that, all one can really add is silver, gold, black, or white to accentuate them. Just neutral accesory colors. You both did that.... la dee da...
As for the heavy gold, again, not surprising. Gold and Purple compliment each other well, anyone who's taken any kind of color class knows that. They're the regal-feel colors. By no means shocking to see them together.
Other then color related similarities, most other points have all been stuff like "this line here" or "that line there." Which just made me roll my eyes. And oh my god, my shoes have laces! I must have ripped off my friend's look.
As for the knives, they look more like Kira's to me then yours. In any event, by no means an uncommon knife design. I've seen them before. You have long smooth swords, with handles that wrap around the hand. He has short jagged daggers, with handles that don't wrap around. You're gonna have to give me something a little better then, "They're both curved with gold handles" to wow me here.
I think the best point of similarity made has been his shoes, which still isn't a huge one.
Their Rain is regal, and kindof a knight/samurai amalgam. Yours is still a ninja, with fancier armor.
Like I said, I'm NOT trying to insult your work, I think your Rain looks awesome, and I give you due credit in that. But as for them taking cues from yours... I find that a little far fetched. Like I said, I just don't see it.
But as for the 10 point conspiracy theory, hell I bet I could find 10 ways your design is similar to Reptile too if I had a gun put to my head, and even more ways your Rain is different from theirs.

I agree. I think Rain looks awful.
I think certain aspects of the design dont look good together, and it doesnt feel very Rain-ish to me.
As for the new Rain looking liek Bleed's concept, well nah its not all that similar. not enough to say the MK team based it on his design or anything. I actually prefer bleed's to the new one. I think with the amount of fan art aroun the net for MK Characters, it would be impossible to find a new character design that isnt similar in some way to a piece of fan art.

I prefered the ninja look. That cape and missing hood does him no justice.
Hell he shouldve had a mask just like Deceptions Subzero, minus the shredder part.

Well hey you know that nothing goes better with the color purple than gold or yellow.(lol @ me saying "The Color Purple, its a movie btw )

I agree. But wait, Why does rain have to wear purple? Why cant hes shape or skin be A water colored theme? He better have a good fatality in armageddon relating to his name. For instance..Reptile is a real reptile.

I don't think it looks anything like Bleeds concept other then the color in the costume personally.
I agree with Tetra_Vega, Rain's new look reminds me of Sub-Zero's revamped look for Deception.A similar concept IMO.
Bleed's concept is nice though, he looks like a new Lin Kuei warrior IMO.
I drew a concept of Robotic Rain.The little story behind it is if he ever got transformed into a Cyborg.
I have to scan in on my PC first though.
