MK has an awful lot of to make up,which some of you aren't even aware of.MK is viewed as a joke by the "competitive commnunities".Boon needs to make a good game.Other competitive gamers will play it accordingly just as Tekken players play VF and vice versa.It may take years even if Boon designs a good game for people to realize that it's indeed good.However,now,MK and its community have a very,very bad reputation.

I know I don't know you and you don't know me so you have no reason to respect anything I'm saying right now but please do this one thing. I'm far from being the kind of person to get involved with other people's personal squabbles or ever actually beg for something but this transcends person to person relations. Please do whatever you can do to spread the word. This has never happened before. MK was never given the opportunity to be in EVO. Maybe you're right and MK doesn't "need" it but what can it hurt? If it really does end up being "Tekken is teh b3st and MK is teh suk" then it was a nice try but at least the chance came up and MK was able to meet that. I don't know everything that's been going on and maybe MKO was wrong when it came down to releasing the news. I can't say either way. But that responsibility lies with MKO's staff not MK. There's no reason to punish MK, the fans, and whatever good may come of this because of that. And this is all coming from one of the most vocal critics of MK on this site. I agree that Deception will take a lot of cannon fodder from most of EVO's crowd but at the very least it will be in plain sight to take that fodder. Some good may come from that. Once again, you have no reason to listen to anything I've said but now is not the time to let rivalries and disrespect put MK, the game everyone here loves, at any greater disadvantage than it's already at.

Tony hit the argument right on the spot, just promote it and give MK a chance at the spotlight. Sure MKD doesn't merit such, but we should give it a go to show that there is a community and maybe, just maybe, we'll have a real competitive fighter that isn't all about glitches, infinites, and 50/50 mixups.

There's no fighting in here. No hatred, no disrespect, no bragging. Just a bunch of MK fans who may have different views on the game's overall quality but at the same time love the series equally. I guarantee if MK doesn't make EVO now it never will again even if it does get better as a series. This is probably a one time thing. Either MK meets the challenge or it misses the bus forever. You don't have to like the MKO staff but be the bigger man and show that there actually is an MK community that cares about the game more than personal rivalries. Scott-Howell is right. If MK is prevented from getting into EVO because members of the community itself won't help it get there then there really isn't any reason to ask Midway for a better product because we as a community have proven that we don't deserve one. Super Smash Bros. Melee, a game that isn't even considered a real fighter (subgenre maybe), was going to be in EVO until Nintendo stopped it from happening. That doesn't make Nintendo look good. They hurt their own product. Don't do that.

I post on your site in the classic section, as EWAShock, and look around elsewhere, it does not have the same level of activity on the forums as MKO, and that is primarily what MKO is. MKO has 4 times the members of TMK. 20501 vs 4925.

At the current time, including myself, TMK has 2 online registered users. MKO, counting myself, has 8. That's X 4 too.

As far as your obvious jealousy goes about the whole statement of the possibility of MKD being at EVO, it is just that. HOW was TMK going to do what MKO can do for promotion of this tournament? Tell me how? Think about it and be honest with yourself for once in your life. You will argue that water isn't wet man. I don't like the fact that the game itself is going to represent competitive MK, but regardless, it is MK and MK deserves the spotlight. Help out.

This will finally lay rest once and for all if MK should be in a tournament. Everyone knows how broken of a game MKD really is and EVO (yes, fucking EVO) is giving this game a chance and letting the community decide. Are MK fans just garbage who don't play competitively or will they step up to the challenge to travel to the biggest US tournament out there. They're basically giving this game on a silver platter and if the community doesn't step up, there will never be any hope for MK. As a former MK fan, I really hope to see it in the tournament and a big turnout for it.

Remember you're in with stiff competition with Alpha 3, VF4 Evo, etc who have fanboys all over the place and WILL step up to get their games in. No more crying that MK is just as good as the rest of the fighters. No more excuses. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE!

As for EVO, am in concurrence with Tony and Tran. This will serve as a wonderful opportunity to put MKD in the limelight, for better or for worse.
I love MKD, I think it is a lot of fun because it plays differently. But I also see how glitchy it is compared to a lot of top notch fighters out there.
This is a win win situation IMO. It will either be taken in with open arms, or be lamented as a game that needs a lot of work. Either way, I think the Midway team is going to stand up and take notice if we keep putting this game in big events like EVO.
As far as the rivalry, I am sorry, get the freak over it and help out MKD. This is a team effort guys...try to see it that way.
Shake hands, kiss and make up, heck even give eachother hickeys for all I care, but do SOMETHING to help get this game THERE. Because love it or hate it, glitchy or not, this is BIG for MK fans EVERYWHERE, and could very well determine the quality of the next MK game. And THAT, my friends, the potential for a killer MK game for the next instalment, is bigger than ANY rivalry or harsh feelings.

This site has a very active forum, I don't deny that...but other than news coverage what else is here? If you really wanted a "hands across MK sites" type attitude with this news, you could of contacted the webmasters of others sites and filled us in, but you didn't... you just expect other MK sites to follow suit. And I think that EVO must not be fully serious about this if they only sent this information to MKO and not other MK sites, for maximum exposure that PR should of been sent to everyone.

But MKD is the most broke MK game yet...too many infinites..glitches..and plenty of cheesefest daily online.
Midway has failed to test this game properly..and has pushed another MK game out half assed done.
I would think Midway would pay attention to high level play posts and vids..and recruit ASAP. doubtful

honestly there is no way to game test thins game 100%,, konqrr and them are still finding new glitches.. u are talking about what 4 guys who game test can find in the span of what, a month or 2, not possible.. the prob is that there are no patches to fix it. which if this was in the arcades there would hav been like 6 revisions already. and if u ban half the crap, 85% of the people wont play, cause they dont no how too..

Exactly. 100 people, in the grand scheme of things, is not an unattainable number. So if the community as a whole can't work together to make this one thing happen then those same people who consider themselves fans should never even think the words Mortal Kombat again nevermind talk about how MK can stand with the rest. If MK fails to make EVO then the community proves itself to be the worst enemy MK has, not a rival fighter.

I've just made the same offer to TRMK, because they feel like they should be getting "something out of this". Honestly, it shouldn't be about that, but here's what we're offering. Total-MK, if you help promote Evolution we will put a graphical link to your site on our sidebar as an Evolution Contributer. If that's not enough, I'll throw in the Scorpion render I know you want. Are you willing to work something out with us? Obviously, we can't list a graphical link to every MK site in the world who runs with our update and helps out, but we will try to be fair with the main sites that refuse to update on Evolution.

If I had the time and money to go to Evo it certainly wouldn't be to play a game like MKD. Signing up with no intentions of actually going is lame. You're just wasting the time of the hosts. What good will it do if MKD is there but only 15 people actually show up?

And I don't buy for a second that Midway would change their ways if this came to be. It's pretty clear to me Midway doesn't care. The fighting game community has been bashing MK's depth and complaining about broken gameplay mechanics for like a decade now.
