Cyrax is one of my favourite MK characters (top 10, my favourite cyborg). He's an impressive character also because of his story, he is the soul trapped in a machine. The fact that we don't know too much about his life before the transformation gives him great potential and plenty of room for plotline twists. He is the struggler he is confronted with a reality that provokes great suffering with him. We can also presume that his past wasn’t eventless keeping in mind he was the only cyborg that had experienced flashbacks and if the Lin Kuei were so quick to send Sektor to supervise him I believe he had always been a problem for the clan.
I hope he makes it, he deserves to make it, and I hope that in the future his human life will be unravelled, making him human again would ruin all his dramatic and symbolic value. I think, as many people have said, that during his life he never got along to well with Sektor and I think a cyborg confrontation is due in Armageddon.
Theory list:
#1 He fights Sektor, he is close to loosing and realizes that Sektor must be destroyed at any costs and self-destructs himself. Too cliché and weak, I really hope this does not happen, but it is a possibility.
#2 He fights Sektor, he defeats him and is helped by Ermac to recover his human form, also a theory I wouldn’t like to see because as I have already stated his mechanical form makes him so much more impressive.
#3 He fights Sektor, during the fight he has some short flashbacks of a fight they had during their human lives and starts to understand what had happened. After he defeats Sektor he goes into meditation and his human memories are returned to him. He was a rebellious warrior of the Lin Kuei, he never agreed with the way the leaders ran the clan. Sektor was however his complete opposite, he was driven by the wish to become more and more powerful and believed the clan gave him this possibility. During an attack on the clan’s headquarters Sektor used some high explosives to get rid of a pack of foes and this explosion blew up Cyrax’s home and killed his family. When Cyrax discovered his entire family dead he attacked Sektor in a blinded rage, he was stopped by the other clan members from killing his fellow Lin Kuei. When the automation process began, Sektor volunteered to be first one to be automated, believing this would give him greater powers and requested that the rebellious warrior Cyrax was to be the next one automated to make sure that this troublesome personality would be forever gone. At ease now that he had finally defeated the person that had ruined his entire life, he decides to help Sub-Zero in his task to reform the Lin Kuei and rejoins the clan. This is obviously the way I would like his destiny to go.
To conclude, Cyrax is a great and tragic character that should be speculated to its full potential due to his enormous possibilities.

Wow. I liked the third one too. If Cyrax defeated Sektor in Armageddon and joined the Lin Kuai that would give a larger possibility of he and Sub-Zero living to the next gen. (since we pretty much know subby will be there) unless Cyrax is killed beside the Lin Kuai warriors fighting Scorpion or Noob or someone. Hmm...
Hmmm, I think Smoke will still be serving Elder Subbie in next gen, But Cyrax in Lin Kuei? I dunno, I think it'd be better if he stuck with the OIA. If Jax and Sonya retire, someone's gotta keep recruiting. Who says you can't take orders from a Yellow Robot and a Blind Man??

It would be nice if "human versions" of the cyber-ninjas were hidden characters. If Smoke got to keep similar-but-different versions of his powers when he became a cyber-ninja, it would be nice to see what Cyrax & Sektor would do (I don't think they are doing this, it's just on my "wish list").
Storyline wise, I don't think Midway get ANYTHING from killing Cyrax, or letting him live.
If they kill Smoke, they end a tragic story with a tragic ending. If he lives, then it's a redemption story.
If they kill Sektor, they have the "ending of a threat" story. If he lives, it's a sinister foreshadowing foreboding story thing for the next gen. consoles.
Cyrax? No story to finish, really. Killing him would be pointless, but he's really a bit player by now, so he can't add anything by staying alive.
I'd be happy to see him fade into the background. They can wheel him out in a couple of years as a secret character returning to the storyline, but right now, killing him would be a bit pointless, IMO.

I asked Jerrod to write Sektor's story, but since I hadn't heard from him and it was getting late, I figured I should do it just in case, so... we ended up posting at the exact same time. So that's why my comments about Sekter are before the actual summary. Sektor's story needs a lot of explaining, that's all I'll say. To be honest, it would be interesting to see Sektor align himself with Noob Saibot, this could be a good way to wrap up both of Sub-Zero's fueds. (With Saibot and Sektor) I don't see Sektor surviving, I imagine he'll be killed by either Cyrax, Sub-Zero or Sonya. (Depending on how the story goes)

Now onto the next cyborg of the series, Sektor! Technically, he should’ve been done first, considering he was the first of the three Lin Kuei members to be automated, but I’m not picky.
To let everyone know, Sektor’s storyline is filled with gaps and the occasional plot-hole, as well as a lot of questions concerning events, but hey, it’s MK; we’re used to it by now.
Like I had said, Sektor was the first of three cyborgs and went under the name LK-9T9. He volunteered for the automation process because pf his loyalty to the clan, and when Sub-Zero and Smoke reject the idea of becoming cyborgs, he and Cyrax pursue them, only capturing Smoke. After Smoke becomes unit LK-7T2, the three of them hunt down Sub-Zero, ignoring the fact that Shao Kahn’s trying to take over the world (for whatever reason, they don’t have souls, and because of this, they are ignored by Shao Kahn’s Extermination Squads). His story gets hazy from here on because as far as the history goes, there’s nothing that says that Sektor ever confronted Sub-Zero during the events of MKT (if he did, than he did a poor job of protecting Cyrax while he was being reprogrammed; with that in mind, it’s possible that Smoke helped Sub-Zero, but then again, it’s also possible that the three cyborgs went their separate ways to find Sub-Zero and cover more ground).
After Cyrax was found in the deserts of Outworld, he and Sektor are charged with finding Sub-Zero once again in Outworld, with Sektor being ever suspicious of his former comrade, who had changed since his ordeal.*
Cyrax somehow wound up with the OIA, leaving Sektor to fend for himself in Outworld. Having dealt with so many opponents while in Outworld, Sektor becomes corrupted and proceeds with a new mission; destroy his inferior Grand Master and take over the Lin Kuei. Sub-Zero couldn’t save his former master, but after a long battle, prevented Sektor from taking the Dragon Medallion, which would’ve granted Sektor untold power. After this loss, Sektor fled to Japan to create his own army.
Because we don’t know what happened in Japan, it’s still not certain that Sektor officially formed the Tekunin, but I’m willing to bet that this is going to be confirmed in MKA.
And now my thoughts on Sektor... I do hope that he survives Armageddon, just to see if he can get his army up and running. Every single threat has been from another realm, and I think it’s about time that a major threat from Earthrealm starts stirring things up for the next generation. Maybe he could have his knowledge and memories backed-up on a CD to be used by anyone who finds it and wants to complete his vision of global domination? Who knows? Of course, this is just a complicated idea that I came up with, and odds are it won’t happen, but can’t a guy dream? In all honesty, I think that this will be the last game we ever see Sektor in.
*To let everyone know, because MK:DA retcons the fact that Cyrax was found by the Lin Kuei and replaces it with him being found by the OIA, this pretty much leaves a huge hole in Sektor’s story between his mission to find Sub-Zero and when he returned to become Lin Kuei Grand Master. I could swear that the Prima guide had another bio for him, and odds are that that would be the canon one, since the Prima guide bio for Cyrax had him found by Jax, which is what is considered canon in MK:DA. I won’t say what I believe the Prima guide had written down, for I don’t want to pass around wrong information (I can't find any sources that quote the original bio). In any case, I don’t regard the MKG biographies for Sektor and Cyrax as canon.

OK. Sektor is a character that I would say is on the life-death fence. He's a character that still has something to offer with the whole Tekunin plot, but if they kill him, they can just retcon that anyway. However, if they do kill him, it would be a waste of a character, because I can see Sektor surviving and becoming one of the main baddies in the future. All I can do is shrug at Sektor for now, because I'm not really sure whether he should survive or not.

I can see a lot of things happening with Sektor and I really doubt that Sektor will be killed off in this game. So I compiled some of my ideas for the character.
1. Sektor does indeed die but not before downloading his mind into the Tekunin main computer. With this the Tekunin could survive so that we could have a group of cyborgs for next-gen.
2. Sub-Zero has a son and goes after Sektor to take down the Tekunin, but dies in the process and Sektor gets the dragon medallion. So in the next game he becomes the boss or sub boss character for next-gen. Plus I think that a new Sub-Zero would be fitting for next-gen. Not to say I’m not attached to the current Sub-Zero since he is my 2nd favorite character, but I just think it would be appropriate to have a new Sub-Zero in next-gen.
Those are just a couple of my ideas, and while they may not be the best it feels better to get them out there.

With the black dragon's demise in MKA and Cyrax and Sektor's former alliegance the OIA and the Tekunin are (hopefully) going to be at each other's throats. Cyrax and Sektor I can see in future MK. But not Smoke.
Sektor is my favourite of the cyber-ninjas. He was the most ruthless of the three and also ended up doing the best out of the three. Smoke became Noob's bitch. Cyrax, although regained his humanity got lost in Outworld and ended up blinded by the lava in the shrine (something that no doubt will be repaired but let's wait and see) and Sektor, although defeated by Sub-Zero, formed his own army of warriors and judging by the Tekunin level in MKA Konquest they're not doing too bad for them selves. It's hard to write much about the ninja's as there isn't much emotion in their stories but Sektor's ruthlessness shown in MKA Konquest really wowed me. I love what he has become. Sektor should survive Armageddon and in the future cross paths with Cyrax and Sonya.

Sektor isn't one of my favourites, he's my least favourite cyborg, I am in general neutral towards him, his story so far has been pretty bad and full of plotholes and mistakes and was never really coherent. If he is too survive armageddon i hope he gets a more solid storyline, possibly revolved around his tekunin clan, till now his entire story was that of a brutal killing machine in my opinion. However I don't really thin he will make it.

realize how now that he has been seen and looks good, now all these supporters are flooding in?
i worshipped this guy since MK3 and all i got was "HES SHIT" and "HES OGNNA DIE COME MKA", and now that hes been seen and looks good and has somewhat of interest, all these fans are pouring in, LMAO.
not directed at you guys but i do notice this, and it makes me laugh.
SEKTORS POSSABLE ENDING's IMO
i am gonna make this as unbiased as possable because i dont wanna be looked at as somebody who thinks hes gonna live 100%.
Ending #1- Sektor Assaults the Lin Kuei, taking his experienced programmed Tekunin army, he proudly and fiercly marches in front of his army towards the Lin Kuei Temple.
outcome #1- The armys battle and the tekunin are voctorious and subzero is defeated, the Lin Kuei is no more
outcome #2- The armys battle and the Tekunin are forced to retreat, Sektor may live or die. another will rise.
outcome #3- The tekunin abandon Sektor and retreat leaving the leader to fight, he destroys many but cannot overpower the clan even with all his power, he activates his self destruct system and takes the Lin Kuei and all its history with him.
~~~
Ending #2 Special Forces attack the Tekunin Warship.
outcome #1- The Special forces are successful and that particular Tekunin fleet is destroyed along with sektor, another Tekunin will rise.
outcome#2- Tekunin fend off the special forces killing an important member or 2 (sonya,Cyrax)
outcome#3- and even battle causes both sides to withdraw from battle, NEXT GEN
~~~
Ending #3 Sektor goes good
outcome#1- Sektor regains his sanity and rejoins with his fleet under the name of the Lin Kuei
outcome#2- Sektor almost goes good, but goes crazy in a blind rage and attacks subzero, the winner is up to midway to decide.
outcome#3- Subzero wont allow it and kils Sektor while he is weakened (because he only attacks the weak, LMAO jokes)
~~~
Ending#4 Sektor vs Cyrax, the conclusion
outcome#1- Sektor wins
outcome#2- Cyrax wins
outcome#3- Draw, either forgive or both die.
~~~
Ending#5 Subzero's Demise
outcome#1- Sektor attacks a weakened subzero after he battled frost, Sektor wins
outcome#2- Frost and Sektor attack Subzero together under the agreement that she gains controll of the lin kuei after subzero is dead, sektor takes the medallion as frost is afraid of it.
outcome#3- Sektor fights subzero 1v1, Wins or Loses, GG
~~~
LONG LIVE THE TEKUNIN ARMY AND GRANDMASTER SEKTOR (next gen hopefully)
Actually this is the worst he's looked. Cyrax got a great redesign for MKDA. Smoke's was quite nice for MKD too. But Sektor looks really odd. I've liked Sektor for a while and he's always been my favourite of the three cybers but his redesign is not so nice. His chest is too spherical and bulky and pushed up. Cyrax looks muscular yet still very much robotic, Smoke looked very sleek, Sektor looks....bulbous.
Ah well, I'll just recreat my own Sektor.
This was a given, because it's not MK without these two characters.
At least I hope so.
I think Sektor will live past MK:A. He poses a major threat to humanity, and the fact that he's raising an army already seems to indicate that simply disposing of him wouldn't erase that threat. Chances are that he has plans for the possibility that he may get destroyed - like some suggested, he may have his memories in a computer or on a disc. And it wouldn't be too difficult to have his cyborg underlings programmed to put a plan in motion in the event of him getting destroyed.
My personal hope for him is that he continues past this game, fighting the Outworld Investigation Agency/Special Forces. It would be interesting if he formed an alliance with the Red Dragon who, unlike the Black Dragon, seem like they are a broad, far-reaching organization (The only members we know of are Mavado and Hsu Hao, but the information we have on them points to them being a more sophisticated and larger operation than the Black Dragon.). The Red Dragon are enemies of the Special Forces as well, and even though they obviously wouldn't trust each other, it seems likely that the Tekunin would see an alliance as beneficial in the battle against each other.
I want to see a personal feud between Cyrax and Sektor, too. Sektor would see Cyrax as a weak traitor for having dropped his loyalties to the Lin Kuei and wishing to regain his humanity. Cyrax would view Sektor as a soulless killing machine and a threat to humanity in general. It should last at least two games, to build some suspense, and then they should truly face off.
Just my thoughts.
I like Sektor, and with the Tekunin thing, I see potential for his story. Unfortunately, his story would've been better had they continued on this generation's story. He could've done a lot by manipulating the Red and Black Dragon clans and trying to get back at Sub-Zero as well as perhaps even teaming up with Noob Saibot.
With MKA, I don't really see Sektor and Sub-Zero involved in each others' stories since there's a lot going on.
If Sektor survives, he should definitely be Sub-Zero's major enemy in the next-gen MKs. However, if he doesn't survive, perhaps he can pull a Brainiac and transfer his mind over to a new body.
Right now, I see him as the kind of character who sees humans as inferior and would want to replace them with cyborgs. I'd like to at least see Cyrax involved in Sektor's story and maybe even the Red Dragon and Special Forces.
Overall, there's a lot that could've been done. But unfortunately, he's one of the many characters whose story potential will suffer.
Sektor is a great character. I never really thought much of him in the early days when I was a kid. When I heard MK3 I always imagined a red robot fighting Scorpion in his lair for some reason. When I finally played MK3 again, most of my favorites were gone. Raiden, Cage, Ermac, Rain, Scorpion, Baraka, Kitana ect. So I had to make up for this by using other characters. Sub, Liu, and Kung were still there. I played as Nightwolf, and liked him. Sonya was great too, and so was Kano, and Jax ect. I finally tried Sektor, and was like wow, how could I miss this guy? He was one of the best characters in the game. Was it because of his amazing combos? Homing Missles? Kick ass grab? The fact that he was a red robot? All of those and of course, something that played a role in him being a great character is the.....
Story. He hunts down Sub-Zero. He doesn't get him. He kills the lin keui. Subby comes and beats him for the grand amster. Sektor leaves and makes the tekuinin clan. yay. I like this story, because he has the most potential now, of all the characters in MK. Everyone. Frost runs a close second, but Sektor is number one. He could do so many stuff, has so many enemys. Should he go after Sub-Zero's Lin Keui? Should he try to kill Cyrax, and the special forces? Should he join up with Shao Kahn, or Shinnok, and have the tekuinin follow him? So much potential, that there is no way he can fail as a storyline character.
Here's what I want to happen. Sektor should try to fight Cyrax, and get prepared to finish him, when Sub-Zero comes to save Cyrax. Subby kills Sektor, and saves Cyrax. The end.
