Hector Sanchez Escapes the NetherRealm!

Producer Hector Sanchez has announced his impending departure from NetherRealm Studios via twitter today. His next destination is as yet unknown.

After many years, today is my last day here @MK_NetherRealm as I move on to another adventure. It's been an absolutely AMAZING experience.

Sanchez has been a stalwart of the development team over the past generation, having first joined in the mid-2000s. He contributed to Mortal Kombat: Unchained (2006), Armageddon (2006) & Versus DC Universe (2008) in quality assurance and producer capacities.

As producer, he was heavily involved in recent successes Mortal Kombat (2011) and Injustice: Gods Among Us. helping cement their place within the competitive tournament scene. Sanchez was a regular face within the community, a regular face at live events.

It's always sad to see someone go. Mortal Kombat Online wishes Hector Sanchez best wishes and fortune in the next stage of his career.

Ah, that sucks. Always liked seeing interviews with him, he always seemed so enthusiastic, and I think that enthusiasm helped energize the projects and his team. Farewell sir. Wish you well in your next move.

Well, that's another one gone. I wish we could get Saibot back, but that's never going to happen. Hopefully things will get better. It's time for MK10 to go into development.

It ain't as far fetched as it may sound. WB is such a shitty publisher. Look at the way they treat Monolith a once great FPS games dev into a shitty tool for WB's DC/LoTR franchise dev.

I wouldn't be surprised if things are really shitty or even if Ed decided to leave himself.

I don't know about that. Maybe some lower on the food chain might bounce, but Boon was there for the most shitty of Midway's antics. If he didn't abandon mk/his studio then, I doubt he'll leave now.
