Congratulations everybody, you managed to whittle it down to two characters that are completely irrelevant to MKX. Not once have I voted for Fujin in this entire shindig, and I'm not about to. I vote for Boob Saibutt.



A 6-game wonder, actually, if you don't count Armageddon. 7 games, if you wanna count the GBA port of Deadly Alliance. 8 if you felt like counting Mythologies.

In MK 1 and 2 it was Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero!! I don't care if you call him Bi Han or Kuai Liang, the playable character was Subzzzzzero.
In MK4 Noob Saibot appeared just as much as Fujin in MKX. Nobody bought that version of the game to play as him. I want to hear it from the other guys. Did anyone play as Noob in MK4? No? Thank you.

And MK 9 is just his MK Trilogy appearance counted twice. He did exactly the same things, had exactly the same character development, so...copy-pasted.

Therefore, my point stands: a 2 game wonder. I like him actually, he's a leader, I gave him a wonderful arc in my imagined future MK 11 plot. It's on youtube if you want to watch it, but I like Fujin too and he's done just as much in the MK world as Noob Saibot. We'll count the lines of dialogue each of them had if you want, and you'll see that they're of similar importance. Fujin may actually have more after the MKX comic.

I'm probably gonna get yelled at for saying this, but I think Armageddon had the most complete and interesting storyline, pushing the game towards a mystical, mythical, millennial direction. Not only were the bios the longest I've seen, but the konquest mode itself actually improved all characters Taven came by. Sub-Zero? He showed his brotherly affection most of all, trying to do the impossible, capture his hellish brother and somehow bring him back to the living. It was an emotional scene. Sareena forced into servitude once more. I agree about Sonya just being bi***y Sonya, Kano just making bad jokes, Reptile just lurking around, but they do the same thing every game.

But then, we had Raiden going completely insane, Fujin and Johnny Cage stepping up, Kenshi going rogue, the tragedy of Taven, the amazing plan of the fallen Elder God, Shang Tsung vs Liu Kang on the pyramid (that alone was masterpiece!), Scorpion having his clan back (not in the way he wanted, but an army nontheless-another tragedy here), Rain going full Imperial, epic music, epic journey.

It gave me the feeling that this Mortal Kombat Tournament's importance wasn't just an Earthrealm thing of little value to the Universe, but a plan put in motion millennia ago by Gods and sorcerers. The story has become so big and more important than any of the leading characters. It's now a saga.

And it's down to Noob vs. Boob. Or as QC9 so eloquently puts it:

Lots of people played as Noob in MK4. I did too.

Fujin is a non entity and non factor, so i automatically vote for Noob Saibot despite the fact that i don't like him, just like i did with Ermac.

Noob Saibot technically was in MK1. Bi-Han and Noob Saibot are the same person.

MK2 had Noob Saibot appear as a hidden character. That counts, dunnit?

Look mate, not playing as Noob Saibot in MK4 doesn't exclude him from being in the game. That's just stupid. If you're thinking he's an MKG exclusive, he's not.

Noob without question. Bi Han has had one of the most interesting story arcs. He was the original, beloved Sub-Zero. The hero of MKM. An instrumental figure int he history of the Lin Kuei. Now, he serves Quan Chi in the Netherrealm, completely reborn as an entirely different entity (a wraith, rather than a spectre) under a new name. Bi Han's darkness made phantasmal flesh. He's had a full "Hero's Journey" (Joseph Campbell) if he could have ever even been considered a true "hero".

Fujin's the wind god. Under-developed, underutilized, and not interesting enough to me to ever warrant a vote, even if I do want to see him return to the games.

I'm suck of all the Sub-Zero's so Fujin.
