...I'm still agape after inspecting this beautiful pic further. Its just..remarkable coloring detail. You sir, are one of the most tactful cg artists I've come across. Seriously AcjB- the smooth color blending, the bold shadows...its just..too good!
What stikes me most is the texturing- like how the blending on the arms ressembles the gritty texture of real skin. But the textile on the vest is magmazing! How did ya detail that texture? It looks so k00ly.
Sweet custom gradient on the forearms too 8)

Even the background is damn suiting. I'd be hard pressed to find anything lacking on the coloring job, seriously.

...Okay, after some scrutinizing- the only place that looks odd to me is that one white highlight on Sub's headcover. It looks too white, and could perhaps be more oblong-

You mentioned your focus on typography in your studies at the Hague- well, I can tell ya musta did your homework 8) The text on the bottom is a masterpiece in itself. How long did that gelatinous effect on it take ya?

Of course, though tis not the thread for it, I must say that was one helluva sketch ya worked from. I really like Jax007 tidy hatching and linework (I can see where that one strong head highlight came from :p )
But his Subby sketch reeks of coolness. Does he still post or visit here?

The texture on the skin is real skin.
I searched the net for pictures of bodybuilders, picked out the best fitting arms (lighting, shape, etc) and deformed them to fit them exactly.
I got the texture of the vest by mixing various filters from PhotoShop and some external software (plug-ins).

Yes, it's indeed an awesome sketch. He does still visit and post here. As a matter of fact, his drawing skills and knowledge of the human anatomy have grown a lot since this one, in my opinion.
