The host tells loads of listeners to fuck themselves? Never heard such a stupid thing in any podcast ever. Way to go dude.

We must listen to different podcasts. :P

I was going to throw a "just kidding" disclaimer at the end, but figured most people would take it as a joke, as was intended. Ya know, tongue-in-cheek. I'm a silly guy who rarely takes things serious enough to blatantly say something with intent to insult or put down someone/something.

If this is the first episode of ours that you've listened to, I could understand the confusion to a slight degree. However, over the course of 6 episodes I've made it quite clear I'm just having fun, and unless I'm trying to be informative or giving my opinion on the topic at hand, it's likely that I'm just trying to be entertaining.

We're going to have fun, and insincere/non-serious remarks are going to happen, for the sake of the listener's, and our own, enjoyment from time to time. This is a show, after all. It'd be pretty dull and boring if there was no showmanship/entertainment included in the show.

If Ermac is the chosen retrospective character, my question for the podcast panel is: Should NRS Ermac keep his design as is, or as close to it as possible, or should they lean in to the more mystical wizard side like they did with his cowled alt in MK9 and that fan art render that was posted a few months ago. I personally prefer the latter, I think it fits the character much better than a leather strapped ninja in pillowy clothing with a bunch of soul gems on him.

If it ends up being Ermac, my only question is...how the hell would you guys put him into MKX gameplay wise? He really only has one ability, how do they divide that into 3?

I think NRS can come up with something. Look at Sub-Zero, he has one ability, freezing stuff, yet they made 3 variations for him. Also, if they can give Kano 3 variations and them not all play the same, im certain they can do Ermac justice as well lol

Ermac has like three different powers, actually.

TK, teleporting, fireball.
Also, if one of his fatalities is to be believed, he can shrink people lol.

I always tell myself that is a reference to Xavier's fatality from Eternal Champions CD.

I dare you to try to make entire variations out of teleporting and his forceball.

No seriously, I want to hear ideas

Considering Raiden and Quan Chi already got a variation about their teleport move and Scorpion got another where he simply adds a couple of fire moves it shouldn't be hard. Keep in mind that each character always have some specific moves common to all variations.

Sub-Zero got a variation that apparently only adds 1 move (Ice Clone, 2 if you count that you can throw it I gues...).

In regards to ep 7, I do agree that Choose Your Destiny should return, and have the different towers unlock extra costumes for the character you play.

And I thought up of a Kreate Your Destiny idea for single player.

Where the minimum amount of opponents would be the normal amount. You choose the characters via the select screen, costumes and all.

Bosses can be selectable, like if you wanted to fight both Goro and Kintaro in the same ladder.

You could decide to make some matches Endurance rounds as well.

Back to the response, I'm fucking proud to say that I got all stars on STAR Labs.

In terms of the prize for the new Challenge Tower, I say unlock a new costume for all the players, give every character a new fatality that isn't listed before and couldn't be done till you cheat the tower, and the bosses.

That blows. For how long?

Also, once again, great job dudes. Temp hilarious as usual, and I totally agree that they should give a lot of more options for choose your destiny, I really hated the one dimensional take they did for MK9. I loved Injustice's kind of minigame take while still being able to play classic tower. BC's ideas taking from smash bros sounds like it could work really well. I'm really open for anything and I can't wait to see what actually ends up being in the game.

Puzzle combat was awesome. I played that by itself on PSP for quite awhile lol.

It's in the Ferra/Torr thread below. He did it intentionally.

It's for a few weeks.

The podcast won't be posted on here during that time, but the episodes will still be on youtube.

Jesus. That sharefrock guy seems a bit annoying, most people with personal Youtube channels are, but Razor seriously went off on the deep end there. Total immaturity, racism and just being a general prick, no matter how much he tries to dress it up as being a joke. That's pretty awful stuff there, from both posters but you'd expect Razor to be know enough to just leave the thread. Seems like something you'd stumble upon at TRMK.

To be honest, if Icebaby (loved her as a guest, thought she made brilliant points) or someone like Predator151 (if he's still about) or Mick (that'd be cool, even if just to hear Mick's real voice) replaced him on the Netherkast after that, I'd be pretty happy. I love the Netherkast and I listen to it every week, sometimes multiple times to really digest it, and Razor's knowledge of the lore is a big part of that but I really don't want to have to suffer through a half dozen xenophobic 'jokes', even if they're supposed to be 'totes ironic guys'.

It's not a make or break thing for me, I'll still listen next week when he's on it, hell I'd listen to it if JadedRaven was the guest but I can't say I have much respect or affection for Razor after that. Moreover, the Netherkast is getting pretty decent numbers for a very niche podcast on a very niche subject and if it won't be posted here or on MKO's Youtube Channe until Razor's bans over, then the hit to visibility of the Netherkast could be pretty hefty. Maybe I'm overstating it, but it'd be nice if the Netherkast was watched by guys from MKO, TYM, TRMK and the reddit page and I don't think Razor's newfound attitude to xenophobic jokes, be they ironic or not, would go over well.

Maybe I'm overstating it, but there's a difference between blackcyborg's opening Episode 6 with "if you're not American, did you go fuck yourselves?" and some of Razors stuff in that thread, which wouldn't be out of place on a Tea Party/Neocon forum. Think about it, let's say you get a non-American guest in the future: Chrome's Hungarian (I think, or possibly Bulgarian), NickScryer Irish etc. I'd rather not take the chance of Razor busting out Sarah Palin's internal monologue in the middle of the podcast and I'd hate to see his antics impinge on what is fast becoming my favourite podcast, particularly as Temp, Shad and blackcyborg are brilliant, informative and entertaining.

Believe me, if you talked to the guy personally, you'd know he's not xenophobic. In terms of ethics and politics, I'm probably the most conservative person on the show, lol.

Razor wrote the things he wrote to prove a point. I won't elaborate further than that because this isn't really the place for it. Even if it was, I don't want to run the risk of misrepresenting the guy. All I can say is that the intent behind those posts wasn't rooted in anything racist or xenophobic. I've heard his take on the matter, and what he meant and what is being perceived are unfortunately widely different.

We definitely do appreciate the positive feedback, and we look forward to your responses to future episodes. If you're still a bit perplexed about what went down in the Ferra/Torr thread, think of it like this. What everyone ultimately hears is the podcast we record, but what you guys don't hear are the hour-long conversations of us shooting the shit after the episode is done. Nothing the dude has ever said on or off the show would make me think his statements in the Ferra/Torr thread were meant to be taken literally.

Fair enough, and that's good to know. I'd be interested to hear his reasons when he comes back. I don't think someone can have much complaint when writing "is giving the middle finger still an insult in Durkadurkistan?" to an Israeli is taken amiss or perceived to be a xenophobic statement but I'd like to hear his side nonetheless

I wouldn't be in favor of replacing Razor. People snap and say things they really don't mean. And the guy he's responding to is rather annoying and shown to be sexist.

I enjoy everyone on the podcast, and Razor made me look at topics and characters differently, so he is a great for discussion.

I enjoy Razor's perspective too but if he had legitimately meant some of those things, I can't say I would have listened to him with great enthusiasm. I'm more of the opinion that what a person says in the heat of the moment, be they drunk or angry, is how they really feel. A drunk head speaks a sober heart. Evidently he didn't and I've taken the wrong meaning from them, but how and ever.

I've been away from the boards for a while, trying to avoid spoilers since Quan Chi only to find I was actually avoiding nothing (thanks NRS). That guy did seem annoying but what did he say that was sexist? I wasn't on here for that....

I appreciate the feedback and candid comments.

Frustrations, stress, and built up tension will drive a man insane, and get him thinking there's a specific way out that's best, when really it's not best for anyone. That's the case here.

Replacing Razor isn't something I felt was necessary. However, I certainly don't think the way he acted was necessary, and as you said, it was immature and dumb. Through talking with him, he'd agree. He did it for his own personal reasons. I already told him my thoughts on it, and Mick and I have discussed what effect someone being banned has on the podcast being posted here. So even though this time it is the way it is, I hope in the future nobody takes it to the extreme like that.

So for now, Razor isn't being replaced based on this one incident. If this were a continuing pattern, that'd be one thing, but I personally feel this was an extreme example, but a mistake none-the-less. Nobody has immunity to act however they want without second guessing how they might turn people away from listening to what we work hard to put out, but at this current checkpoint so to speak, Razor still contributes much more than this one incident takes away(with intentions and mindset taken into account). He's always on time, mic ready, quality sound, several informative things to say, and he interacts with forum posts in the episode threads quite a bit. But I welcome all thoughts on the matter.

Rest assured, folks: this was a one-off outburst and really, really shouldn't affect the way you look at Razor or his posts. He was indeed trying to make a point and it didn't work out the way he'd hoped.

At the end of the day he's far too much of an asset to the podcast and basically to anyone who holds an interest in MK's lore. Replacing him wouldn't be right.

I urge everyone to try and forgive and forget, if possible. We all have our bad days and shitstorms, and said crap we're ashamed of.

I definitely disagree that Razor should be replaced. I really value his opinions about MK, although he did act pretty immature in that thread, everyone fucks up sometimes. I don't know the context behind why he kinda blew up like that but obviously he has his reasons.
