a little bit of info one of my journalist buddys managed to pass on to me,

We will call the source john doe for now,He has taken pictures of the game in motion which will be printed in the june issue of the magazine he works for.
Midway have also disclosed the name of the game to him,cant say much about that right now due to embargo.
He has in his possesion an artists render of scorpion,subzero,jaxx, and a new female character as of now we dont know who it is.
He wasnt allowed to play the game but did say there were four attack buttons.
It looks like the old style hp,lp,hk,lk is back only this time each fighter attacks differently.
The big reveal is close people.
Visualy he said the game holds its own against tekken and vf5.
Will do what I can to get the renders.

would be one of the last charcters they would choose

I havent seen the scans myself but when you know the head writer for one of the biggest magazines in the uk you can pretty much take what he says as truth. He has already played motorstorm 2,killzone 2,resistance 2. He has seen an internal trailer for god of war 3 which will be shown at E3. Why bullshit about this when everything he said about those other games turned out correct.

I could have sworn boon confirmed no returning characters besides maybe scorpion and sub zero. If Jax is returning in this game, I'll be pissed. Haha.

Again im only going off what Ive been told by people who get paid to write about games.
If its not jaxx then its some other military character,Im far more intrested in finding out who the girl that bends light around her is.
She is 100% IN THE GAME. The story that john doe will write for the magazine is going to be about her.

Sounds like alot of bullshit to me.

Your first give away is that you said Jax is in the game, when Boon said this is all new characters and an all new story. Then you said maybe its not jax, but some military character. Well we all know the game is supposed to have the same art direction as Gears of War so thats not telling us anything we dont know.

Second, you say there is a new female character, but then later say that she bends light around her, which is an old rumor from a different guy on a different board.

Third, you felt the need to share this information on a message board, with out any proof, which right there is message board rule number one.

Actually, he was much less finite. He specifically mentioned the likelihood of returning characters, albeit, fewer than we've seen in a lot of the recent compilation games. Even so, wiping the slate clean was never an allusion to a completely new cast.

Actually, they're using the same game engine as Gears of War.
That will influence in-game mechanics, graphics engines, and generally provides scripting shortcuts. This does not have any direct baring on the artistic direction of a video game.

To correct you Mk-Lucifer ..... Boon said that they are using the look of Gears of War, not the engine. Rainbow Six Vegas uses the Unreal Engine, and that game does not look dark and gritty. Tons of games use the Unreal Engine. Boon specifically said......

"To me, when I saw Gears of War, I was like, 'Holy s___!' That's the look that we've been talking about.' Visually, that's what we want to do,"
