plus it shows that the series is moving in a new direction
killing of a major character is a big step, i hope they stick with it

Well, I personally like Liu Kang, but I think they made the right choice about killing him. For one, it was really getting boring to see him killing everyone, someone else had to do something. Also, by the Shao Kahn Era ending, there is no need for him to kill/beat Shao Kahn. Besides, we needed to get Earthrealm is some kind of mess where Liu Kang not to be able to save "us". Finally, it's logical to have smart bad guys, who would realise that the biggest threat against their (very) hostile take-over would be the MK Champion, so they did well in eliminating him.

That doesn't mean I don't want him to return, I really do, with some of his old Specials, but some new, and a new type of power. Also, since he died, he technically wouldn't be Earth's MK Champion, so there would be a new reason for him not to age. And I really do believe he will return.

I'm sure they will bring him back.
Okay, I didn't dislike him, but the way they kept on bringing him back with practically the same stuff made him boring for me. I'm sure they will bring him back at some point, let's just hope it's not in Kano's body...

I just hope he dosent come back.He was cool, but getting already boooring. And have him...AGAIN as the champ is lame, boring and stupid.

But if he comes back, I HOPE, it woudlbe so cool, yo have him in Kanos Body.

Kanos body? maybe, i dunno. Maybe as like a second costume. And then the second costume would give all new moves like those of liu kangs. that would be cool

I don't mind lui, But it was a great story element to kill him off. Once again it shows that MK has balls. Alot of series try to ALWAYS rely on the Main hero comming back again and again. But you gotta figure this way they are showing not EVERYTHING is a happy ending.

Well, mind you that the games' Storyline has yet to find its ending. So, until that, everything can happen (and I believe that Liu and Kitana will be reunited).

Also, we have yet to find exactly why was Liu stated to go that much to the Outworld (as Bo Rai Cho only was stated to train him before MK1's Tournament, and Kitana is in Edenia, which separated itself from Outworld after MK3)...

Kung Lao is better than Liu Kang.
