in real life, if you hit someone on the head with a sword, stab them through the heart or break their neck, they tend to die.

Bushido blade had this. I thnk this would be pretty cool to have in mk, but the fighting system would probably have to be completely different for it to work. Don't think it's going to happen but it'd be nice.

Also, why wasn't there a Bushido Blade 3.

while it would make for more lifelike play, i wouldent like this, beacase the matches would go by so quickly, it would be draw my weapon, crack of the head, and ur dead.wow

the gameplay would be alot different and although i like bushido blade i dont think it would feel right in mortal kombat

It wouldn't be MK if such were the case. Different gameplay mechanics alltogether. I beleive a "soul sequal" for a 3rd in the bushido blade franchise was made. It was not called bushido blade, however. Infact, I forget the name, but I know one was made. Either by the same company with different designers, or vica-versa.

I think this would be a good idea. For each character to have a "kill" move. It would require a lengthly button entry for instance Back Back 1,1,3,3,1. Where there would be a slow start to the move, enabling a fair chance for the opponent to get out of the way. These moves would have a higher level of flair to them, and would win the round if landed. Of course, if the move is dodged, it would leave the striker open to a counterattack for a considerable amount of time. This would be sweet.

It is a horrible idea, even if the kill move were a long chain of buttons, higher level play would revolve around landing the kill move with a specific character and remove fun from the game. I hope to god that this never happens.

Yes, I totally agree with you. 1 hit kills would be cheap and unfair.

no you are all wrong. this would be good. Matches COULD be over quick. And yes, if you are playing against a "master" than the fight would be over quickly ANYWAY, nevermind him/her landing a "kill" move. But to make you all happy regarding this, how about if the move was only executable once. Like throwing your weapon in MK5,if you miss, you don't have it for the rest of the match. Also, keep in mind, thesse moves would be on par with "mini-fatalities", each character could have a nice animation for their kill move, and it would be nice to look at. This idea is sick.

I think it could be a good idea just not the way described..... I would say if they really wanted to add this they should have some kind of meter to build up and should be fairly hard to do so and if you managed to build up the meter it should still be a hard move to pull off and slow too.

wut if they alternated the aggresion meter, say like if u get aggresion, u have 5 secs 2 hit a butten combo n preform the charaters kill move, i think that would be pretty cool, like u have to work for it instead of doin it the cheap way

I really don't think that you see the effects of your idea. You shouldn't have any person's gameplay being centralized around landing one move to win. When you play a person who has mastered the game, you will always get your ass kicked anyway, but you should be killed through true skill. Playing a person who knows how to kill you with a single pair of moves is just unfair. You can keep trying to alter the conditions of these moves in order to better suit your argument but ultimately this is a bad idea.

Some good ideas. Simply have an option to play with it on or off, as well as the aggression meter. Both would make this a great new feature. So what if you come across a person who has mastered this technique and kills you right off. It's not even like you lose a quarter anymore, just hit the pause button and punch them in the arm and say "dude, stop doing that move, you get me with it every time, if you do it again i will go to the options menu and disable it"

"Problem" solved.

If MK5 had i hit kills, that operated in all the ways people've described so far, it would have been great, and almost made up for the lack of 2nd fatalities.

yay someone likes the idea!

It wouldn't be just memorising a complicated button seqence- it should be pretty much impossible to do against a skilled opponent- much like in real life. Not sure exactly how you'd implement it, but you could have a really close quarters fighting thing, where you can attempt this stuff, but the other person can block 5but need some skill to block- not just hold block and it blocks everything)

I don't think you'll see that happen at all. There was a reason MK took the idea of Street Fighter dizzies and left them to the end of the round to perform fatalities with. They didn't like how dizzies could be abused.

Now if they looked at an old 16bit fighting game called Weaponlord and implemented combo fatalities that could be done at the end of the match when an opponents lifebar was going to be gone anyhow....that would be cool. It'd require timing and skill to do, and it wouldn't be as cheap looking as a 1 hit kill either.

"1 Hit Kills" would not be a good thing to add to an MK game. That would become the only foces for players in the game, to get that "1" hit and win the fight. The combos and the hole fighting system in a sence would become useless.

I think you're all nuts. This is a great idea. Screw the impales. Give everyone an unique attacks thats cooler looking,has cooler special effects and kills them instantly. They should be just as slow if not slower than the impale. And frankly, if you are hit by it guess what? You deserve it.

I bet you guys got hit by impales frequently in MKDA. tongue

Impales can be timed with the opponent's attempted attacks. Thats why the impales punish the opponent by draining their life until they are A) dead or B) able to defeat their opponent with incredible speed. You shouldn't punish a single mistake of a person with a full life bar by taking their life.
