It's defenately possible with it being this early in the game, but I think the MK Team has mapped the amount of characters and their interlocking stories out already.

I reckon there will be 30 characters at the end of the day in total, the rest (6) will obviously hidden or to be unlocked.

Well, my idea for MKD needed 42 compulsory characters. I think ther will be many more characters before released. Raiden, Kung Lao, Cyrax, Sonya, Jax, Kitana, Nitara, Mavado, Blaze and Shang Tsung are ones I would like to see added.

i think 24 chars is just fine, besides most ppl will be playing with their own char from konquest. Thats how i see it, but i know i will always be playing with Sindel

Well if you noticed, they even mentioned the classic characters in the Game Informer magazine and then said, "there are others that I can't mention" so it's obivous that now there are more than 24 characters.

After the barrage of complaints about the lack of a real "final secret" in the last game, i reckon they're keeping some stuff back. It's always nice to get more than you expect. I know news spreads pretty fast, but for all the guys who get it on the day of release, or resist the temptation to find out on the net, there could be real surprises.

I think there will be more than 24. They haven't even mentioned hidden chaarcters and I'm sure that the ones they have named will be plaable from the start. Characters like Raiden, Shang, Nitara, Mavado, Quan, Kung Lao, Kitana and Sonya are missing and should be in the game! I think they'll be hidden or unlockable.

I really hope there's more than 24 characters, but from what they've said it seems unlikely. I mean, they've even told us how many characters from old games, MKDA, and new characters will be in the game, and they said 14 will be playable from the start and 10 unlockable. I don't think they would have let us know all this if they weren't sure on it. But with so many characters revealed already, too many seem to be missing, that should be in it. Especially Kung Lao. It seems unlikely that he'll return at this point, and I think everyone felt that he was being built up as a replacement for Liu Kang.
