A couple of things that haven't been brought up yet to my knowledge, disregarding whether you like the idea for this game or not. I know most concerns as with past games are with creating a great fighting engine, and I'm all for it as long as it feels like MK and not all the other fighters out there, but lets focus on the gore/fatalities for just a minute as it means alot to MK fans worldwide.

Now, Boon has been interviewed and said that they will push the ESRB rating as hard as they possibly can, and then I quote "take a step back" to still keep it in the T rating approval. He said there will be finishing moves, but might not be fatalities per se.

What if, and this is a big what if, but what if MK characters could only pull fatalities off on strictly other MK characters? OR, what if you could only pull off fatalities in the MK stages/universe? OR, what if MK characters can finish MK characters, DC characters can finish MK characters, but MK characters cant finish DC characters? (just throwing all the possibilities out there.) That way, DC wouldn't have their characters being killed, while still giving the MK fans at least some of what they're asking for. Obviously the best thing would be for full blood, gore, and fatalities throughout the entire game and being able to execute them anywhere and on anyone. I would have preferred the MK team push the ESRB boundaries like they did with the first couple of MKs and make it a controversial game again, as there is too much manhunt/gta coverage now with MK not getting its credit anymore, but if we cant get all of what we want maybe we can get something, which is better than nothing right?

On top of all this, we know DC wants the T rating and not Midway. But something that I really wish big corporations/companies would realize is that the ESRB really doesn't concern a majority of gamers worldwide, be it over OR under 18. Let's be honest for a minute, I'm 21 years old going on 22, and when I was too young to buy the M rated Mortal Kombat games, I found a way to get or play them. While parents might not want their kids to play violent games, they are a form of release, and most kids can get the games even if their parents don't want them to, so what does the ESRB really accomplish exactly besides ruin games to a certain extent? I totally respect parents who don't want their kids to play M rated games, and while I disagree that's their decision not mine and they have a right to it. But if the kids want the game they will find a way to get it, and making this MK vs DCU game T rated instead of M rated really isn't going to get any more appeal or reach a wider variety of gamers than an M rated game would. And because of this, we suffer from a lack of violence due to the rating. DC would have gotten SO much more respect from me (and I think alot of others) if they just flat out said "Here's our characters, do what you want with them. Make them dark, make them feel like they truly are a part of the MK universe, we're on board with whatever you want to do." I think alot more people would be much more open to the idea of MK vs DCU, but now it feels like MKs gore factor is being butchered at DCs expense.

One more thing nobody has thought of, what if DC created one or two completely original characters specifically for this game? Wouldn't it be great if they threw us another curveball and introduced a couple new characters in this fighting game? It's not likely, but not out of the realm of possibility... who says characters have to originate from a comic book? They do have 2 professional comic book writers on hand, so it's something I hope they consider, althought highly highly unlikely.

Sorry if that turned out as more of a rant than anything, but I wanted to bring some things up. There's actually one more thing I wanted to discuss but I completely forgot what it was while wording out the rest of it; hopefully I'll remember it later. Please let me know your opinions and what you think, but lets try and keep the attacking/flaming to a minimum. Thanks!
