Figured Id do what no-one on here does...
and thats to just basically give my total opinion on the game in ONE thread. A review, if you will =)
So with me being in the UK, I got the game along time after the US and figured that after visitin this forum day in and day out that Id get the game, finish everything and then think "oh crap" but hey, that hasnt happened yet!
[†] Arcade Mode [†]
I av to say that the graphics blow me away, yes thats what I said. This is my OPINION remember? I dont like how the MK mountain is planned out, the way it just moves down just does nothing for me. I think that the difficulty levels are panned out quite well though.
Not enough fights before Onaga if you ask me. Im a little bored of arcade mode at the moment.
As for the endings, I kinda knew them all before gettin the game as Id seen the captures online but despite this, watchin and listenin to the endings reely got me going!! As for the actual CONTENT in the endings, Im bitterly dissapointed. Too many endings bore me, Sub Zero's being the main culprit.
I enjoyed Ermac's and Haviks, but more on them later =)
Props go to Li Mei's moves, cos I just love this chick, her moves are so...so...so..pretty?
Not sure about Haviks moves though, the whole neck twist type move he does and the split leg projectile are both very unique, go Havik!
The loading screens are too repetitive, Im tired of seein Kobra and Onaga dammit!
The kombatants look amazing, and are very "sleek"...Noob Saibot is a son of a bitch 2 beat, and very very sneaky at that!
Only a mild review of arcade mode mind..

Hmmm I wasnt sure about this one, but I gave it a go, and got bored round about the time of meeting the Lin Kuei Grandmaster [yes THAT early] I hate the whole trainin thing, very repetitive and I know this has been touched upon in another thread so dont shoot me here but how predictable do they become?

Character interaction = a* ..Theres nothin wrong with runnin thru the village of Edenia and smacking some bitches, AMEN =)
I liked meeting everyone, altho was a bit miffed I cudnt make it across to Nitara and Cyrax, boy Id have loved 2 at least been a fly on the wall there.
One thing that got to me were all them damned side missions. Is it just me or do you all just go "oh fuck off" when you hit someone and they tell you "GO FIND A DILDO AND I SHALL REWARD YOU" ?? Must just be me then.
I was more into just completing it, collecting koins [how MUCH?!] and findin secrets....
Shujinko is a bit of an ass in all honesty and he looks a bit poncey. LMAO@Shujinko doing his thinkin pose. LOL!
The loading screens are great, and having completed Konquest already, Im a bit gutted that my rushing around meant I DIDNT see the following : Shao Khan [spellin?] Motaro, Kintaro, Goro, Sheeva, Stryker, Mokap, Kung Lao,Blaze and Im sure there are others. But I suppose thats alrite, cos I now know that despite finishing konquest, I aint actually FINISHED it. If that makes sense?

OMG!!!! I cant stop playing this and ya know what? I STILL aint completed it, so so fuckin addictive.
To hell with the whiners, saying it shudnt be in MK, I love it! Anyone else like it? The kombatants look cool, all small and silly! The arena fatalities are great to watch and this mode offers so much in terms of 2 player gaming. Definite thumbs up from me.
The specials are fun, my favourite being "Levitate" and "Freeze"

Fun fun fun! I think the koffins are rightly priced, cos by the time I got to snoop around in the Krypt, I had like 6,000 of each koin...YEP I WENT SPENDING!!!!
Fun 2 see kombatants running about as you trawl thru the koffins. The addition of "krypt keys" is quite clever. One rant though, and thats that I think theres 2 much "production art"...Dont get me wrong, I DO appreciate that a shit load of hard work went into making the game but what I dont want to see are all the little bits of artwork. Dont get me wrong, I arent whining about it, but that isnt my thing and hey, this is my review =)
Did anyone else think some stuff was over/under used?
....Not very detailed and I know I didnt cover off as much as Id like to have done but Ive a sorehead, whats a guy 2 do?
Dont reply to this review and bash what Ive said, what Ive typed here is only my humble opinion. I respect ur entitled to yours, but let me be entitled to mine, k? =)

you want an example of production art that is overused in the krypt? I'll give you one, Ermac concepts, I mean what were they thinking? I'm oppening the koffins by lines, I only oppened lines A, B, C, D and E, and I already have 5 or so production arts of ermac...geez that's very repetitive

Okay heres my Review: (from other thread I wrote in)
For some reason, I really enjoyed Konquest. I just hope they can improve on it for MK7. Make the graphics just like you would see in the main fighting game. And you can pick what character you want to be for the missions, like Soul Calibur. So i can choose Kira and run around and hit people, like shujinko with her.
Chess Kombat, well, i was really looking foward to and was quite dissapointed. Mainly because i kick my freinds and the computors ass everytime. Hopefully it will be better when I get LIVE running.
Puzzle was great playing with a freind. If they can somehow improve single player puzzle it will be great. But they should have every character in the puzzle game as in arcade, includin alt's. Its possible. The hard thing is a specific special move for each character. But if they can clone special moves in arcade, why not puzzle?
And the fighting is fine. Maybe speed it up, make a few more combo's. They could just have one fighting style and a weapon, as long as they take alot of time making both styles brilliant.
And then they can do whatever they want as a plus. Like Skrabble Kombat or Mortal Hangman. And add the Cliffhanger and Torture concepts found in the Krypt.

Here is my review from a thread from yeterday with added stuff.
The good
1. MK: Deception has better graphics than MK: DA hands down. Great inprovement
2. Deception does a great job in the music, better than MK: DA
3.Breaks are a good idea. Still I was hoping for something like KI combo breakers.
4.Online for the short time I did play online and whenever I did find a good player to play against it was a great experiance.
5. Multi tier stages- its cool to have something new like in a MK game. I hope to see it again in MK7 and beyond
6. Voices and Training- Like MK: DA training is very good to build your skills with a character besides of just going into normal pratice. Voices while sometimes corney and a bit weak sort of added a bit more realism to each character.
The Bad
1. Overall story: Storyline goes no where in Deception. Also there are too many plot holes. There are tons of questions that aren't answered. The answers to the many of the questions aren't even in Konquest and or the endings. In all Konquest in Deception is no where near the level of story and plot information found in MK: DA. Decption's strongest point when it came to story was the returning characters from MK's past. Too many loose ends leaves me questioning when normally in a MK game I am in static in terms what has and what could happen.
2.Fighting system: The fighting system seems to been slowed down from MK: DA. All the attacks have a slow recovery window, thus not agressor friendly.
3. New characters: Only Kira and Ashrah are the only new charaters that I've seem to like in Deception. This is mostly do onpart of there character and storylines. The rest of the new characters looks or storyline fall a bit flat.
4 Sort of too heavy on special moves- After playing MK: DA for 2 + years I like the idea the majority of attacks and wins are done in most of the time in MK: DA by hand to hand, I had a problem with special moves in Deception. Not because the game itself, but mostly when it comes to online. The Ai in Deception knows how and will do different attacks and will do special attacks from time to time, but its a whole another story. A good sum amount of people that I've played online abuse special moves alot . In fact not much "Mortal Kombat" even takes place, instead "Special Move Mortal Kombat" takes place. If MK: DA where online I am sure with its well balance special moves per character that wouldn't happen. I hope for MK7 the special moves get lessed down a bit for online sake.
5. Mini games: I don't have a problem with puzzle or chess kombat. To me the biggest problem with it is it is in a Mortal Kombat game. In every Mortal Kombat game, but Deception is the lesser inportants of creating these mini games. MK1-MK: DA had mini games just to take a break from fighting like a few rounds. I like the idea of having Mortal Kombat mini games, but not when it eats some up time of a major Mortal Kombat fighting game. The time the MK team put into the creating those mini games that could have been going something to beef up the fighting game. While I loved MK: DA fighting engine and think Deception fighting engine is too slow I am just saying I wish the MK team could have done more with MK: DA's fighting eninge.I hope MK7 is like more of MK1- MK: DA more focus on the core fighting game and add secrets within the game like MK1- MK4 or even MK: DA. in short mini games should be short and sweet like past MK games.
6. Deception too me has taken too much stuff from MK's past in terms of stages. A good majority of stages are from MK past in Deception. Its nice to see them in Deception but I would have liked new stages. Deception plays on its past too much.Few of Deception new stages inpressed me. The one that did are Hell's foundry, Slaughter House, falling Moutain, and the Bettle Lair. All the rest like Caves, Liu Kangs Tomb and the other I didn't mention weren't all that great to me. In all I would have preferred to have alot more orginal stages rather than updates from past levels. Too many returning levels.
Overview. Don't get me wrong Deception is a pretty good game, but to me its missing certain elements missing like , deep storyline like from past MK's , and alot more orginality. Also a slow fighting system I think hinders the overall game.

I agree with most of it;
I loved Puzzle Fighter but I would have loved more characters (or even better all of the main playable characters), I would have also perhaps liked a few more arenas and maybe more fights added to the fight ladder. But the actual game is brilliantly addictive and I would only add to it and not change it.
I actually liked Konquest - only if I spend short times on it. However I would prefer if there were fewer coins scattered around (it makes finishing the Krypt too easy) and maybe you could find items in chests other than coins (perhaps after a fight your health stays at the level it was at the end of the fight you could get some sort of health or something in chests. I know it is MK but I feel it would get you more involved in Konquest). I also would have liked some sort of diary ingame to keep track of missions/ hints villagers tell you.
I have only had one game so far in chess kombat so I can't really comment on that.
I would definately like to see Konquest and Puzzle Kombat return in future games, although some work could be done on Konquest for those who found it was lacking something.

o COOL! What an awesome thread! Ok, let me give it a review!
ARCADE:
I think all the new arenas and stuff make it super fun I LOVE THEM, except some arenas like the living forest, the portal etc are always on there and i wud rather be fighting in another arena.....The music is GREAT, it makes it much more fun. What I dont like is that wen u play arcade mode, u only fight a few peoples and it gets boring wen u play the same people and the same arena over and over again......One thing that really bothered me was the character select screen......The new way they had planned it was good, but i didn't like the renders they chose for each character...there were other awesome renders that they could of used but they didnt....The gameplay, im not an expert at this but i think its great......i dont get bored of fighting....I also love how each character has their own unique way to pose or to get up...
CHARACTERS:
The characters in this game were....unexpected....it was great to see so many old faces like Mileena (my fav) Ermac, Sindel etc, but what gets me mad is that they always forget characters from the previous game (mavado, frost etc) and they bring in useless ones like Darrius and Kobra.......some new characters are a waste of space, i wud have rather seen other characters like Sonya and Kung Lao.....but all the characters are great and they all have great new costumes
PUZZLE:
Puzzle Kombat is also a lot of fun and its funny.....sometimes the music bores me tho, they cud have had more happy puzzle music.....but this is a great lil side game
KONQUEST:
I finally beat konquest yesterday, and i struggled so MUCH with it and it got annoying.....its a nice idea, but i wasn't too happy with it......its great to have all these cool secrets but i dont like the fact that u have to train with characters.....maybe it'll be better if u fight them? I dunno......
CHESS:
I love playing chess i guess, but i dont really have anything to say about it
ENDINGS:
The endings are really cool, but they are short....if they werent gonna make FMV endins, they cud have put more pictures...and i think it'll be cool if like wen u have all the endings, u can put them all together and make one cool long one.....but the endings were cool.....some characters had cool endings like Sindel, Mileena, Noob, Havik and a few others.....
I LOVED this game, and since its MK, i give it a 10 cuz i love mk even if it has flaws.........

My review ( short and sweet)
Arcade: Not enough fights before getting to Onaga, like MKDA who you caould have some fun before finishing the game
Characters: Darrius, Hotaru and shujinko were a waste of time, Loved Dark Raiden
Endings : Too many questions for the endings and some endings were boring ( tanya, nightwolf) But Havik's ending is the best
Puzzle: Great but i don't know how to improve
Chess: there's no challenge playing vs the CPU
Konquest : A-TOTAL-WASTE-OF-TIME, Shujinko is the "bitch" of everyone and the introduction of the kamidogous change the whole mortal kombat story...
The whole mortal kombat concept is changed... but still a good game.
