X-Box:
11/01/04 - NA
11/05/04 - EU

PS2:
10/12/04 - NA
12/31/04 - EU

Evidently, they will not leave the versions in different days, so like European, I hope that they are the correct dates are those of the X-Box wink

even better i wish Microsoft had bought midway when they were considering it. A version of MK geared directly towards xbox would look unbelievable. Instead we still get a sweet looking game but a game thats nowhere near its potential because it was developed cross platform. I cannot stress enough how much I hate Playstation 2.

Smaddy, I agree with you 210% - with you all the way - I absolutely detest the PS2 - If only Midway would have let Microsoft buy them then MKD would be 10x better - but so fars its great nonetheless...

EBGames and GameStop have these dates:

EB Games:
- Mortal Kombat VI (PS2) -> 10/12/2004
- Mortal Kombat VI (XBX) -> 10/12/2004

GameStop:
- Mortal Kombat: Deception (PS2) -> 10/1/2004
- Mortal Kombat: Deception (XBX) -> 10/1/2004

Retailers have the most accurate release dates, as they get the info directly from the publishers, that tell them the information so they can start taking pre-orders.

Also, about the game being just for XBX, I think Midway knows something you guys don't seem to know: you might hate the PS2, but the game sales more on the PS2 than XBox(Deadly Alliance did, and probably Deception will do to); in fact, the poll on this site reflects that more than 50% of the people that voted will be buying the game on the PS2, and if you count the people that will buy it for both consoles, the PS2 version will probably outsell the XBox one. I think that's the main reason.

BTW, the most probable thing is that the game will ship for both consoles at the same time, it is very unlikely that Midway will release the game on one console first.

well said, Phoen...

There is no way Midway would release in "stages" like that.....the release date will be the same for every platform (except maybe the GBA which may be released later, if at all).....for every MK game that has ever been released on the major consoles of their particular era, they have all come out the same day.....thats why the release date always gets a subtitle like Mortal Monday (remember that one?)

hmm egm's preview states each console version of mk:d will take advantage of each system's strengths this time around. i do agree if they did not want it on gc they should have just focused on an xbox version. ps2 graphics are no where near as nice as gc or xbox and i am tired of play ps2 low-qaulity graphics on other systems. such is the bane of ps2 being the lead platform in sales. maybe sony will actually put some effort the third time around.

The fact is most of the market is PS2, and just because a small minority of fans want the game exclusively on X-Box is not fair at all. Youre risking of angering all the PS2 owners.

They will never waste their time making an X-Box specific MK game so keep on dreaming. PS2 outsells X-box 8 to 1 and they do so for a reason. I really don't think that X-box graphics are THAT much more superior. I'd like an example as to what games are so much greater on X-Box than PS2. I've seen Deadly Alliance on Ps2 and the box and I prefer Ps2. Same goes for GTA Vice City. AND Simpsons Hit and Run.

Go PS2

Lol, you're right. Why discuss about which console is better?, each person play the games they like on the console the game is released; besides this is a Mortal Kombat forum(Deception Discussion); and it doesn't matter the platform, the game will be basically the same...maybe some changes, but in the end, the same game.

BTW, as I said, retailers such as EBGames and Gamestop are mostly accurate on their release dates because they get them directly from the Puclishers, if you see one of those retailers to push back the date; start worrying, cause it probably means that game has been pushed back.

Making MKD exclusively for X-Box would have been an infinitely stupid thing to do. A) There are a lot more PS2 owners out there than any of the current consoles. B) Shutting off fans from a series just because they can't afford a system it just wrong.

I have all three systems myself and usually buy games for the X-Box, just my preference. But I agree with this statement 100% It would be very stupid indeed.

I have all three systems and the X-Box does have better graphics then the PS2...barely.But should we be shocked the PS2 came out a entire year before the X-Box.So Microsoft got a chance to see what Sony's machine could do and improve on it.But the PS2 has a much bigger fan base like it or not,and making MK an X-Box only game would have been a very stupid move.In a billion dollar business MidWay would have lost millions not making a MK for PS2.And when all is said and done they will release MKD for the GameCube,it maybe a little later but they will,thats too much money to pass up for Midway.

I say why buy one when you could have two. Maybe the guys and gals at midway have a market plan. If the game sells better on the ps2 they would release it on that system first. Then they would get every one who owns a ps2 to shell out money on that system. And then if the x-box looks better they will get all the people who own both systems to buy an x-box game also. So they get all the money from the ps2 and x-box, as well as the third option of every one who has both systems to buy the game twice. I think they are smart. Also there could be a difference in the two games. Each system could have, I am not saying it will be but, It could be that, they have there own secret fighters like in soul cal 2. Midway is a smart company.
