A Secret Arena??

posted10/21/2004 02:06 AM (UTC)byOkey....this might've been posted before, I looked for it and didn't see it, so here it goes. I was unlocking some missing Koffins today, and I unlocked a Concept Art of an arena called: "Frozen Chambers" or something like that. Now in the info it says that it has many deads beneath it etc...however, it also says: "I don't wanna give too much...but hopefully you'll be able to do battle in here in the near future.". Now, I think I've unlocked all the Arenas and I still don't have it...could that mean it may be unlocked another way?... OR...someone in here has it and I'm just missing it. If that's the case, please tell me how to unlock it!, heh.-

how did you unlock ALL of them...there are two spaces left in kontent and i believe i have all the stages known!
can you list what stages you do have...and yes i unlocked the art as well..looked like a nice place to do battle...as well as the sludg pits...thats 2 missing stages for the 2 missing spaces i think! but who knows

I to have been wondering about that ice stage.I am hoping it is unlockable and also is the fabled ice worm stage that we were hearing so much about months back.

Well I have the ones you start off with and these ones:
Portal
Liu Kangs Tomb
Golden Desert
Nexus
Dragon Mountain
Kuatan Palace
Quan Chis Fortress
Living Forest
Dead Pool
I think those are all the stages I have(I'm just remembering, did not check on the actual game cuz I gotta go). Well, do not trust much the empty spaces. They might be there and empty cuz the layout of the kontent selection screen is like that; and if there is no more kontent, then the spaces are left empty.

It is NOT in the game. As far as anyone knows at this point. From the text that comes with it I would say there are 4 possibilities on this.
1) The image was created as part of Sub-Zero's story line for a visual. The writer of the text really likes the idea of using it as a fighting arena and hopes to work it into the next game some how. That may take a while so that may not really add up to "soon."
2) Is that the stage may actualy be something you get on-line. Like an add on stage. That would really only work for the Xbox using its most under used feature the Hard Drive.
3) Is it will be a GameCube exclusive. They said the GameCube would have some bonus stuff to make up for the lack of on-line play and the delays. Thats my understanding anyway.
4) It is in the game and we haven't found the way to unlock it yet.

I noticed something regarding these "Frozen Catacombs", it says it's in Outworlds, so I went there to investigate. If you go to the Ice Caverns located there, you can clearly see that there is a path further into the cave that is blocked by some big rocks, so you can't go through. Is it just for decoration? hmmmmh.... Also, if you go out and a little bit to the south, and look up the mountain you see a temple that goes up like from inside the mountain, you cannot enter either....just scenery?....
I'm not so sure about something but....maybe people are trying too hard to find missing characters, and in fact there are secret Arenas...it's like a theory I guess, but the main and most important feature in MKDeception is the interactive arenas one...would not be so strange if there are hidden arenas.

Good one. I think thats possible.

That is not in the "near future" at all!. MK7, according to Midway; is supposed to be under-development for next gen consoles, that's a minimun of 2 years from now(that being pretty optimistic). If it took 2 years to make Deception, using MKDA engine and everything, imagine a COMPLETE new game for a next gen console. If that's near future for the MKTeam...then they don't have any idea about time.

I agree. Hopefully, it's unlockable.

Don't think it'smuch. Reminds me of the swamp concept for MKDA... yet they didn't finish the swamp stage for MKDA consoles (but it's in the gba version). Same goes for concept art of Smoke and Sektor. Sektor isn't in the game.
but then again... yes it can be possible that it is a hidden stage, but I highly doubt it.

I understand what you're saying but the only way this time would be the same is if it is in the Gamecube version of the game. Even so, the info says: "YOU'll do battle here...". If it is going to be in the GC version, they shouldn't say "You" they should say "They". If I bought the game for PS2, then why the hell will I buy the game for GC too?, for 1 or 2 arenas, and 1 or 2 characters?. In fact, I actually don't own a GC(as I know many people who doesn't either) so if that's the case, it sounds pretty useless to put: "You'll battle here"....maybe it's not unlockable in the game, but has many signs pointing that it is.
Whatever the case, I like the game a lot anyway, heh.
