Ok This game is all about Deception we know this, and Boon said that Most of the Cast of MK will be touched by Deception in a big way, this we also know....Which brings me to Nightwolf...

I have been trying to go over and over in my had of possible ways that Raiden could be killed by Shang and Quan...I mean he's a god, how the hell could two sorcerors who can't even seem to conquer a small realm like earth and who have had some truly spectactular as whippings at the hands of the the earth warriors, Kill a God??? Then I got to thinking about Nightwolf..He's a mystical Shaman right? He has some pretty incredable forces at his command...well what if this time around Nightwolf isn't playing nice? Whether it be possession or some other motivation...Perhaps Nightwolf is allied with the DK, maybe in return for the Dragon King sparing him the hell on earth he has planned or perhaps it's blackmail? Maybe DK has someone dear to Nightwolf and has promised this person a rather gruesome death if Nightwolf does not serve him in helping to destroy Raiden...However it happens Nightwolf is no longer on the side of the light so to speak. So getting back to Raiden...Maybe Nightwolf uses his Shaman Sorcery to somehow block Raiden's Powers and there by cutting off his immortality as well, allowing Shang and Quan to double team and eventually destroy Raiden. Like I said this is only a scenario I thought of as a possible way that Raiden could have been killed. Also I think it has fantastic Shock value in the true Deception department...I mean think about it A hero as noble as Nightwolf selling out and helping to bring about the destruction of Earth's protecter, and eventually Earth itself. I'm sure there would be a lot of Jaws that would have to be picked up from the floor if this event were to take place. Just trying to stay within the theme of Deception. What do you guys think? NOTE please no flaming, because keep in mind I have not said that this is what WILL happen...It's simply an idea I had, nothing more.

I see where you are going with this, but Raiden also says in his ending that he would give up his position as Elder God to aid the mortals. Giving up his position as Elder God, makes him a mortal too. A very powerful mortal, but yet a mortal.

So unless i'm wrong, then your idea is perfect. But if I am right about that then I would have to stick with the whole idea of Raiden making himself a mortal, and dieing because of it. Just ironic how some guy makes himself a mortal, and someone takes advantage of it and kills him(hopefully Quan Chi).

Actually this is a common misconception...When Raiden Gives up his status of ELDER god...he is simply returning to his status of God of thunder. He even says so in his ending.."Instead I will stay here on and continue to protect Earth as God of thunder." Or at least it's something like that he says...I'll have to review his ending again, but i know he ends his speech in his ending saying how he will remain God of Thunder. So you see he is still a god, just not as powerful as an Elder god..So Quan and Shang couldn't kill him on their own..at least I don't think they could. grin

hmmm not a bad theory but i believe that nightwolf is as you say noble and is forever one of the good guys. it has to be part of the indian culture to rather die than to betray his friends and fellow warriors.

lets not forget that quan chi is a sorcerer of the dark arts. probably similar to nightwolfs magic but i will wager quan chi is much more powerful. Also if the DA won and are still together then at least for the intro they should be in control of the DK's lost army - they could use that to provide muscle to occupy raiden whilst they defeat him with magic.

if you are looking for a deceptor in raidens demise then i would look the way of tanya or maybe frost.

Very good point. I believe you right, now that I'm thinking about it, Nightwolf's Indian heritage would probably dictate that he die himself rather than be responsable for the death of a friend or ally...and you bring up an excellent theory of your own on how Raiden could be disposed of, Bravo I like your idea better...makes more sense too...use the army to keep him distracted while they come up with the right spells for his undoing. Very good.. thanks for posting in my thread, it was an interesting point of view to read. smile

Well, Shinnok was an Elder God but he was killed by Quan Chi, whether he had the amulet in his posession or not. But yeah, you are right about that whole thing about the God of Thunder. But I just doubt the fact that if he was immortal, that he would be a selecetable character in Mortal Kombat. I could be wrong though. Only time will tell.
