Well here is my theory about Scorpion. In MK4, he said in order for his soul to rest he had to avenge the death of his family and clan.
Quan Chi was responsible for his Family. And I beleive he is dead because of what Boon said.
But his vengence for his clan. Now the younger Sub-Zero in MK4 said that the Lin Kuei was responsible for his murder. Now it was probably the older Sub-Zero. But when Subby ment his murder did he mean his clan's murder.
Speculation goes that older Sub-Zero is Dead and Raiden wittnessed it. So no dought he is dead. But why is Scorpion still out for vengence.
Well if Johnny Cage came back from the dead, mabe old Sub-Zero was revived by Quan Chi before Chi died. And the Old Sub-Zero went after his brother and took his identity even the mark of death on his face. The Old Sub-Zero pretended to be the young Sub to be DECEPTION. Now Scorpion is back to avenge the death of his clan.
Or some people beleive he is back just to avenge the death of his clan and Sub-Zero is not apart of it.

First of all, I seriously doubt Scorpion would have gone tracked down and muredered the original Subzero if he had known the circumstances. I mean, Subzero may have given Scorpion the mortal wound, but it was Quan Chi who was responsible for his death. He assigned both assassins on the same mission, knowing perfectly well only one of them was going to succeed, and they were going to kill each other if neccessary. Both fought. Subzero's relative some-what reworded statement to Quan Chi was "His blood is on your hands!"
The reason he came back from the dead was because his family was brutally slaughtered. He believed Subzero had done this to spite him, and that was his true quest for vengence.
Why was he still out for vengeance? Because the murderer of his clan isn't dead as of MKDA. Now in MKD, we don't even know if he's still out for vengeance(I seriously doubt he still is, for that matter).
By the way, from what I've been told, Quan Chi isn't dead.

I see what you are saying.
but Scorpion has to be out for vengence, because he is not on anyones side but his own. His soul will never rest until he has avenged everything.
but by the way Sub-Zero, if you noticed in DA When he was wearing the ninja outfit his eyes were white just like Scorpion's. Mabe, possibly Sub-Zero in DA was the older brother. Lots words were said about how old Sub got in this game. It might be the amulette but I not too sure. So mabe Sub-Zero did come back from the dead and that is why his eyes are white (or blue).

I've talked with John Vogel about the missing scar on Sub Zero's Face. This is what he answered me:
His scar is supposed to be there, but the artists working on him keep
forgetting about it. The cover of the gaming magazine featuring Sub is
missing the scar because we caught that too late. He should have the
scar from now on... unless there is more miscommunication within Midway.

Well, when one's eyes glow white, it can mean two things.
It could signify hollowness, or lack of a soul. Most anime's use this technique for undead creatures or those under mind-control. Although not necessarily evil, it usually means the person is dead or empty; without a spirit.
It could also be a sign of power. Raiden and Fujin, or any of the MK gods would be a good example of this. Since Subzero had the medallion, this is the most likely scenario.
Remember, Raiden brought Cage back from the dead because he was a friend and a helpful ally. Subzero was a noble, but cold-hearted assassin. I think Raiden would have to think long and hard before he went through the trouble of reviving him. And why do it when he already has a neighborhood-friendly Subzero holding things together at the moment?
But the way people are getting, we may just be seeing the original Sub after all in MK7. If the fans ask for it long enough, they usually get it.

That is a good point about the eyes.
I know that Raiden would not bring him back. but what about other gods or even the Dragon King.
And The old Sub-Zero probably will come back if not in Deception

Sub's eyes weren't even glowing white, they were glowing blue. This shows the transcendance of his ice abilities, no doubt because of the medallion. He is probably the young Sub-Zero since I was pretty sure that the original one was indeed killed by Scorpion at the end of the first Mortal Kombat.
