Why do magazines ask such stupid questions that noone cares about...or have been asked 100 times before?

I'll give them credit in that they asked about 'How many fatalities per char', 'clues about other stage fatalities'.

But then they waste space by asking these questions... I dont want to speak for every MK fan, but I could care less about these ones:

1)Can the fighting game genre ever be as successful as it once was?

2)MK being very edgy, is it easier to publish these type of games?

3)What was Ed's high, and low points of MK's history?

4)Whats the hardest thing about keeping a series on top?

I mean..c'mon.. I was expecting to see a "Are you suprised at the success of the series overall?"

As a MK fan, there are quite a few questions I have right off the top of my head that should've been asked...

1) What about hidden characters in Deception?
2) Will the Internet mode me Broadband only?
3) Will there be a monthly fee to play online?
4) What kind of things can we expect in the Krypt this time?
5) Will classic MK's be unlockable as rewards?

Maybe I'm just overreacting, but I was hoping for more meaty questions...

Yes, but I would never ask questions about secret characters. They must remain hidden 'till game come out.

I personally enjoyed reading that interview. I finally got the chance to last night...

But why would he answer your questions 1,4,& 5? That's why they're called secrets.

Ed gave a LOT of information about Mk-D. More than I would expected him to, and actually more than I hoped he would have at this point in time.

While it makes things exciting now, why not leave it as a suprise for when we actually have the game?

But I do agree that some of the questions, as you stated, were lame...

In typical online fashion, there will most likely be an online fee. Chances are, X-Box Live subscribers will be in luck, and just be able to mooch off of their already paid account. As for ps2, I'd be willing to bet a monthly fee will be required, although probably less expensive than you all think.

Less than the price of going to an arcade every weekend and getting your ass kicked ;)

As for interview questions, there's only so many you can ask that are published with responses. Keep in mind, these are the questions that are ALLOWED through. The remainder, probably as silly as it seems, such as secrets and surprises, are omitted for printing space. Why bother printing "no comment" towards everything that makes the game worth buying.

Be patient, you'll get your answers when the game comes out, just like they want you to.

Many games can be played online without paying nothing (except the connection, of course), I doubt much that we must pay something to be able to play the options online.

The majority of "free online games", with the exception of a few (battlenet) are hosted games from users. This kind of online play in MK will require a rather large community, with servers just to house the chatting ability alone.

Unless they go the safe route and the "online" aspect of it is more of a LAN game connecting to someone who you know locally, or who's IP address you have. It'll be interesting how it's put together, but for some reason I see this turning into a gamespy-esk gaming search engine, with a large amount of network support on the MK team's end. However, this is a question that should be asked in the next interview. "How is the online aspect of the game going to be used, and how will it function?"

XBox live rules. I got it for $50 and renewed it, and I think it was worth it. I mean I can only play my siblings and friends so many times. Sony took a smart idea, but since it being free it has no support and advanced features. I'd love to see a combo of both. Like if you don't pay, you can host the game off your console, but only connect to a few people and lose features like chat. If you pay, well it'll be like XBox live.

I wouldn't pay an additional fee though since I'm paying for Live.

I'm fairly sure for a game that's more than 6 months away, Boon already gave away a pretty hefty amount of info. Most of the stuff you're asking about is stuff we'll find out eventually anyway or will be hidden in game and shouldn't be shared.

And why do people keep assuming MKD will cost money to play online? I'd say 75% of the online games out right now are 100% free, with the exception of paying for an ISP and either Xbox Live or a PS2 broadband adapter.

CvS2? Free. Socom? Free. Resident Evil Outbreak? Free. What the deal, y'all?
