Hey ok wait until you hear me out on this so you know where i am coming from.
Why is it everyone before you see any screen shots i hear ppl saying i want new ppl i hope they do this and that. But then everyone sees screen shots and there like i hope they bring this guy and this guy and eveyone is talking about everyone from all the other mk games. Why does everyone just want old ones now ,i mean if all you want to do is play with all the mk cast from mk1-da then just play all the old games. Why should they keep making mk games if all you want to do is play with the ones from the past. Why can't you just let some of them die and move on so they can think of new ones to come up with.Yeah sure there are great fighters like sub and scrop and it would be said to see them go but for god sakes it gets old.Whats the point of having a story line if no one ever dies or they just keep coming back. You think there dead but oh no here they are again....Let liu and shao and all the one before now let them R.I.P.wait until like mk8 or 9 and then maybe bring one or 2 guys back but why take one away and put them in the game after it...i mean why can't you just let them take some out and leave them alone ...cause it does get old and seeing some new fighters is great and adds more story. And same with where they fight at to.Why don't or cant we talk about fighting in hell,or in a mental hospital and hearing ppl scream and you can use them as a shield and they be freaking out lol i think that would be funny has hell.
i know some wont like what i said and thats cool i just really would just like to only have like 4or 5 ppl from the mkda game and all brand new ones.

Well ... we want the MK to keep growing... but there is no need to throw away goooood old characters! Plus, the new characters arn't all that good... Mavado, Hsu Hao, etc.... I'd rather have Kabal and Kintaro instead of them...

Well for my take on this, I think it'd be cool to have your favorite character return in better quality and progressed. And this game won't exactly be a new intro to newer characters, this game is about the relationship of each kombatant deceiving one another. Each MK game has a sequel that's followed by a storyline that's supposed to demonstrate a series within the game. It's like asking "why can't this game be like the "Power Rangers", just as an example. Well who would want to play something with completely different characters having the main ones scratched off? And plus I'm pretty content with the old characters still remaining. If there were to be newer characters each time an MK game come out, what storyline is there to innovate? It'd just give the whole purpose of "mortal kombat" a boring feeling due to repetition. I think the concept of having the previous kombatants remaining gives the gameplay a little bit more fun, while introducing more. And even though people always look forward to the old ones, that's just because they want them to be in the game, doesn't mean they don't want new ones to come in.

Yeah i see where all you guys are coming from i agree to a point and i respect what you say. There is nothing wrong with what you guys want but i do think sometimes you should end story line and not make it act like its over and up it not really be.No big deal and i know what i say won't change but its all good.I just kinda wanted to know if anyone else saw it my way to....but if not thats cool i will always like mk old or new charcters i will always stand by it.
i believe there is a certain formula to achieve when bringing new characters to the table.
mk 1 there was only 7 characters - all of which were quite different in story. now as the games have past, the more characters you introduce the harder it is to find a unique one, or one that doesnt follow a similar story to an existing character - eg "quest for power"
so with the last two games quite a few characters were introduced and i believe the mk team nailed the formular for two characters at least - quan chi in mk4 and kenshi in mkda. but i am also convinced that several others are very close which would need a little working over to get right (mavado, drahmin) but even so there is still the majority of new characters that just dont take for various reasons. i dont think you can really risk a game with 75-80% new characters with a well known franchise that carries high expectations like mortal kombat.
