It's interesting that with Rayden being apparently mortal now, that intimidation factor that he had over those who would invade Earth Realm is now gone. With him now being just another regular bloke, what would happen if now, earth realm is swarmed with attacks from the Netherrealm let's say?

It would seem that this situation with The Dragon King is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the Earth Warriors protection Earth. Some might think that in the end, Rayden might regain his Godly essence. However, what if he remains a mortal? Who would take place as the protector of Earth Realm?

The logical choise would be Fujin to take his place since he and Rayden are drinkin' buddies. But what if it's not Fujin? Could another god step into the role as Earht's protector and would that god have Earth's best interest's in mind? Just because someone steps into a new position, it doesn't mean that he/she is gonna be suited for the job.

Perhaps a more troubling scenario could occur. Parhaps the position is left open and the Earth Warriors are left to fend off the opportunistic attacks of those who knew better when Rayden was a God.

With that said, I think the end game storylines will be the most anticipated ones to date, not just because of the general outcomes of the tournament, but their implications in a possible MK7 storyline.

It also would seem that Boon has presented us with something of a quandary concerning Rayden's future. If he is to remain human and were to survive the Dragon King's onslaught, what then for Rayden? Do you think that he'd be a character in future MK games, or is this his swan song? Remember, he has apparently lost his essence and logically he wouldn't be as formadible a fighter as he was when he was a God. Or would he? Maybe he would retain some amount of power or parhaps not.
