In previous MK's teleports have been-for the most part-useless.

Now that we have true 3D there is a new possibility for making this worthwhile.

What do you think of using the right thumbstick for directing the teleport.
The thumbstick would act as the action button, being the last thing during the combination.

For example- B,D,B, Stick

The way you could select where you teleport to, is by aiming the stick in the direction you want relative to the player.

Another For example.
(Assume you are in player 1's position on the left of the screen)
If you want to teleport directly behind the opponent. The button combo for the move as shown above would be: B,D,B, Right (on the stick)
in front: B,D,B, Left
Behind and to the opponents right: B,D,B, Up+Right

Now this may seem complicated, but should work quite well.

Optional:..???
Also adding to the effectiveness of the teleport, when he sees you are teleporting, the opponent must guess a general direction where you are going to appear, and push his thumbstick that direction-or at least close, to effectively block.
The amount of damage he takes depends upon how close he got to facing the correct direction.

This may seem a little complex, but if you think about it, it could work really well.

Once more, this is a feature that would apply only to certain characters.

Any thoughts?

I prefer the utomatic teleport.I'm not saying your idea is bad it the automatic teleport should still be there and if you wan't too control it put on the analog that's better right.

it just would not be quick enough. Now maybe if there were multiple teleports. Turning that combo around so that it was Stick, Button.

I think for Raiden's old teleport it was Up, Up.

So in this case we could use Up, Up [Button]. Where [Button] would be Away, Behind, Right and Left of the Opponent. a different button for each direction. Xbox example: A, B, X, Y. PS would be the associated buttons.

I think that would simplify it in a 3d console envitionment. It would not allow you anyplace for teleport, but I think it would make it interesting and diversified in a 3d environment.
