To be honest, I hate that they decided to start new next gen.
I don't think I'll ever get used to a new cast of characters.
It really feels like MKA will be my last MK.

Change can be great at time, depending on how it's done. We just have to wait and hope Boon and the staff know what pleases the fans and exactly what they're doing...
Which brings me back to the saying "Don't fix what's not broken" or something similar; I hope they don't change EVERY last detail, it's not always a positive.
No way to find out right now, we have to wait and see what they bring us next.

I am as well sad, they can never replace the original MK fighters. At least whoever you like. the fighters like darriou and hotaru. I don't even understand them. Shinnok was only in one game. People like that i'll probably never remember. (unless they kill one of my favs)(if you don't get what i mean, i mean fighters who have 1. Minor stories or 2. Underdevloped.

I'm not sad at all. In fact, I'm kind of wondering why they didn't do this sooner. That's just me though as I don't particularly like a lot of the old timer cast.

Saddened? I'm elated. This generation has been one big disgrace for MK.

Change is good. Most of the "classics" and current storylines are stale or are going stale and gone on too long. I think it's time for some of the newer characters to get the spotlight and new things to happen.
Long as Sareena is among them, I'm happy.

I can definately see what saddens you about a clean slate, but I can also look at the positives, and what makes so many players happy with it. From one side, we do lose all (or most of) the characters we've grown so accustomed to, following their storyline game after game and fighting and scaling that mountain over and over again with them...
But if you wanna look at it in a more positive way, think that it will be good to meet new characters, get started on brand-new storylines and fighters, with a lot more improvement since it's next-gen after all..
I wonder a lot, though: will Boon and the staff really be able to have so much creativity when creating the next-gen cast as they've had on this gen MK? I mean, we did have some very memorable characters here, and very unique... it just makes you think if they'll be able to do it all over again as good, if not better.
Thanks for reading my essay, LMAO -_-'

A little premature statement in my opinion.

Agreed, but if you look at it, it's all about relativity.
Every game copies something from the past, but yet reinvents itself, unless they are from the same age. Example MK4, MKGold.
If I see scorpion die will I be sad?? Yes. you see change hurts me too

I mean w all should be sad that they are getting rid of most of the charactors weve come to know and love over the years ...But now were getting new Charactors stories and all that jazz. So its really a good thing we might end up loving the new cast weve got to wait and see.

seeing as how MKA looks like I say its better to go out with a bang than with a boo.
any way Midway will surly make the chars make cameo appearences in other games.

Yes, I am SUPER saddened by the fate of this MK generation. I mean, what a heartbraker. All the characters from MK1 - MK3 are gold. The "new" gen of MK won't possibly come up with more charismatic characters than the first games.
To me, it's a bite in the ass that I'll never see characters that I love, like Sindel, Jade, Frost, and Sonya (maybe), but they're sure ass hell keeping characters I don't fancy, like Scorpian. I mean, I've never understood what is so amazing about a guy who throws a rope.

Nah, I'm happy. I like endings.
But if the next MK isn't as good, then yeah.....I'll just be happy that at least the old guys went out like gangstas. It's a beautiful thing, really.

If Midway are smart they'll bring back Frost, Kenshi, Sareena and some of the other characters who were introduced in MKDA or MKD as MK8's classic characters with the rest of the roster being made up of brand new ones (plus Scorpion and Sub-Zero sleep).

Lets see, the first cast of MK characters were ripoffs. MK2 gave some originality to the otherwise soulless characters. MK3 had plain horrible characters, MK4 is even more retarded...
I presume that they will go MKDA and MKD design wise with the new cast, and I can only approve of that. I am tired of seeing MK for what it is, it got me bored pretty quickly now.

It is sad to see the end of a chapter to a series I grew up with.
I will be sad especially if Frost doesn't return in the next Gen MK. However If they can create cool new characters then it might be alright.
I hope they don't create an ass load of dairou, hotaru and darrius type characters. If that is the case then it's goodbye MK for me!

#1. I'm glad you agree.
#2. Learn to Spell ScorpiOn right.
#3. Scorpion destroys the list of skanks that you love.
#4. He doesn't throw a rope genius, its called a SPEAR and its ATTACHED to a rope. It's also one of the most versatile weapons anyone can have. Go play MKSM to see what I mean.
