I was thinking about Ashrah's origin, and how she once served Quan Chi as his bodyguard. I don't know why but even before we got that info, I always pictured Ashrah and Scorpion getting into a feud of such. I was thinking Ashrah would kill Quan Chi, and then Scorpion would try to kill Ashrah.
This idea of mine has now evolved into something a lot less original, but something that could prove more interesting if done right. What if Ashrah was Scorpion's wife? Just hear me out here. I'm not an expert on ninja traditions, but I think if Ashrah is Scorpion's wife, then maybe she might have known a bit of martial arts. Even if she didn't when she was slaughtered by Quan Chi, she could have been taught via sorcerery or directly by Quan Chi.
Both Ashrah and Scorpion want Quan Chi dead. If Scorpion kills Quan Chi, both Ashrah and Scorpion would be happy beings, but if Ashrah killed Quan Chi, Scorpion would never get his revenge, and would likely hunt down the person who took that away from him.
Ashrah has found the Kriss, which makes her feel as if she is being purifyed. Maybe it is the weapon of a lost demon hunter, which enchanted it to make the person wielding it want to slay more demons, so his work can be done even after death? Maybe it was created by Quan Chi to get Ashrah to slay his demons so Shang Tsung can take their souls to fill the mummifyed army of the long forgotten Dragon King? There are so many possibilities, but I don't think we will be finding out the TRUE origin of Ashrah's Kriss anytime soon.
Anyway, if Ashrah is getting purifyed, maybe she learns a bit of her past. Who her mysterious attacker (Scorpion) is, and what happened to their son. It could have all turned out to be a plan by Quan Chi. I posted a while back a theory on how Shang Tsung and Sub-Zero could be aligned, but what if Quan Chi killed Ashrah (That would probably not be her real name if she was Scorpion's wife), and turned her into a bodyguard, because he knew the Elder Gods would turn Scorpion into a soldier for their purpose, and Quan Chi would likely be a target for this purpose. Maybe Quan Chi's true quest lies in destroying the Elder Gods? Maybe the Kriss Ashrah wields has that power? Who knows, but I can't wait to find out the story behind the Ashrah character.
