So far Mortal Kombat Deception looks badass. The actual fighting looks badass that is. But what the hell is chess and puzzle fighter doing in the game? First of all, board games arent all that fun, at least compared to video games they arent. In my opinion, just because they are in 3D or have to do with mortal kombat doesnt make them all that interesting. I mean sure theyve added some new features to spice it up a little, but the fact remains the same, theyre dumb. There isnt much variety and they dont belong in a game that continually sets the standard for violence and practically invented the fight game genre. Board games are only the slightest bit fun in two places, a long trip or school, and this is only because there is nothing better to do. But even then theyre dull and boring. So my point is that the action packed Chess Kombat and the super duper cool Puzzle fighter is for retards who enjoy the flashy colors. Why did all the fuckin morons at midway spend time creating them when they could have been making movie endings for each character, or something like that.
Any who thats just my two cents (that happen to be made of pure gold), but what do you guys think about Chess Kombat and Puzzle Fighter?

Think of it this way, at least we don't have Test You're Might and Test You're Sight.
These look fun to me. It's puzzle fighter and chess with an MK twist. I'm especially looking forward to chess. You actually have to fight to win the square, so it's not like "Oh, I'm a pawn, I just killed you're queen hahahahaha!".

i was kind of looking foreward to play the mini games (chess kombat the most), to be honest, in MKDA, after I unlock every thing from the Krypt, it got really boring and everything is repeating itself (using and fighting the same varity of characters over and over). but now, with the mini games, you can have lots of fun and more things you can do with it like try to "beat" the mini games with EVERY single characters (remember theres about 24 of them, so it will take a LONG time). so the mini game is gonna be fun.

I'm really looking forward to Konquest and even Chess Kombat, despite my opinions about what they have could've done instead of using time and people on making the mini-games.
The (edit) PUZZLE kombat can be taken off for all I care
I'll only play it to:-
A. make sure everything is completed in Deception
B. unlock anything that can only be unlocked by playing Puzzle Kombat

For games that are dumb and boring, I see a hell of a lot of people playing those types in college labs during break. And don't say because those are the only games... I see people play them online and in Linux which has more games that come with it than I can even count on two hands.

I concur, but rather than other fluff, they should have used all their teams on beefing up the fighting system. From the previous posts stating how the game was boring after they got completed with unlocking fluff, its an obvious that the fighting engine needs to be improved.
I mean look at how many people on this site post and spend their time reading these forums vs. actually playing Deadly Alliance. I doubt a few people on these boards can even admit to playing Deadly Alliance for 4 hours a week, I bet none can admit to playing Deadly Alliance more than they visit and read these boards.
So obviously the Deadly Alliance system isn't enough. Breakers, forward dashing, and death traps (ring outs) are fun and dandy, but there needs to be a big overhaul with the basic mechanics, otherwise the fluff will get boring after a month as well.
I won't go into specifics since you can find the links to the gameplay threads from tgrants thread.
I appreciate the puzzle mode though, it'll probably be more worth playing than the fighting game aspect and chess combat after a month of playing it.

Well, it would be tough to plan a strategy for either game, seeing as in puzzle combat the blocks are randomly colored, and we don't know every detail of what each type of character does in Chess Kombat.
I'm really looking forward to Chess Kombat. And so are a lot of others.

I love puzzle games and fighting games... I'm not a big fan of board games, but the fact that u can kill, revive, and fight for the win makes it interesting to say the least

I will probably not even touch the mini's for more than two hours durring the entirety of my MKD play. Unless unlocking necessary shit requires me to. The actual mechanics of the core gameplay needed to be seriously addressed; I doubt they have been. People say they get "bored." If the mechanics are worth a shit you wont get bored, especially with online comp.
I will not play the mini's any longer than I have too. I started playing MK over a decade ago because it's a fighter - and I use that term loosely. I will continue to play MK because it's a "fighter."

I am looking forward to play Chess Kombat, though I can pass Puzzle Kombat. I've already been thinking about what team I am going to put together. Ermac as Grunt, Kenshi as Shifter, Sub Zero as Sorcesor, Scorpion as Champion and Baraka as Leader. Imagine the 0wNage that team would cause?
