it's normal, in france for example, we have not publicity about mortal kombat deception, nobody know it is release now! ;)

im from england and most ppl told me they didnt get MKD cos GTA san andreas came out 2 weeks before and more ppl in america got it like nearly 2 months before so they had more time to get the dosh.
but cos i am spoilt i got both lol

Releasing Deception so close to SA was a bad move.
But yeah, I've noticed that MKD has gotten zero publicity while MKDA got one hell of a push here in Portugal. Most video games don't get any type of publicity over here, but MKDA was really all over the place. Ads in magazines, lots of articles on it. DA got on the cover of alot of Video game magazines here. It was also present on alot of contests, etc. There were no TV ads, but only the top notch, absolutely fan favourite games (like Tekken 4 and Final Fantasy X-2) get TV time here in Portugal.

In Australia and the UK there is a radio ad for Mortal Kombat: Deception. You can listen to it at Mortal Kombat Australia.

It takes lightyears to get any PS2 games here in Hungary/Slovakia.
I think Midway counted on that MKDA's publicity would boost the MKD
release. I kindda ask myself? Was this a sane advertisement move?

I think most of the non-fans that would by Deception (and these are a massive number of buyer,s) simply get San Andreas or Halo2 first.

they should have bought deception out b4 san andreas but Need For Speed underground 2 came out at the same time.
The UK magazines gave the game poor reviews aswel so that probably influenced some people...its a shame though because I really like it

We got GTA:SA, Football Manager 2005 [PC], Halo 2, Smackdown vs Raw & MK:Deception comin out all very recently, so its been quite hectic and unpredictable for game sales in the UK

i didnt see or hear 1 advert
the only time i saw a bit of publicity was on the boxing academy
(UK reality TV show i expect USA to copy it soon lol jk)
cos it was sponsered by MK DECEPTION

i think that Midway might advertise later on...maybe cuz theyre translating stuff etc...
but i doubt that sales will flop over there. i mean if theres people with a magazine and have heard from friends that it came out, then the sales might improve.

In Australia MKD was promoted very well.
There were huge write ups on it & lots of ads in Magazines. The nearest EB store had the its in us all add running not to mention posters. It was on a current affairs program along with GTA (they said these two were at the top of the violent video games list).
Halo 2 was everywhere and GTA had little promotion except for in games stores.
The guy at EB told me Deception is selling like hot cakes but it was nothing compared to Halo 2 and GTA.

Thats a shame, its dissapointing.
But I know that my local game store has sold 21 copies of it.
I hope that MKD will do better, but I know for a fact that it will surpass sales of MKDA in europe.

i think it's great it flops out like this. untill midway decides to release the special versions of MKD, i won't buy it ....
