im re-posting this from another thread, because too manny people just keep posting questions and speculations that boil down to being just plain wastes of their time and energy.
so before you waste a weekend trying codes, or impossible acts of game experteese...
or just post a question that will get you alot of flames,
you should first know all of the following...

Fight Night:
the development team (including Ed Boon) was asked about the 'secret' hallway, which leads off to the left in the main menu screen...

the team did say at fight night that the halway exists. it was going to be for mabey accessing a cheat menu, but they said also that it ended up not being used.

they said therfore (or at least seemed to say), that there was no cheat menu.

they also said there are no more
'alities'in the game...
no 2nd fatalities,
brutalities,
animalities,
babalities,
or frendships.

they said there were no stage fatalities.

they said that arena barriers could not be shut off, or broken.

they were asked about the drum arena story, and about getting a draw game as the story sugjests.
the team replied that due to the way it was intentionally programmed a draw game in MKDA is impossible. you will not see it, EVER. this is true, try it at home kids.

they were asked about the voices in the krypt (which i myself have never actually heard), and 12:43 (or whatever it is) the team responded that they did not know what we were talking about. and that these things must most likley be inside jokes and such, done by people in the graphics and sound areas (after all, if they needed a creepy sound in the krypt, why not a garbled voice of somekind? if it were only there for effect, it wouldn't matter what was said. as long as it was mysterious sounding), and these things should not be taken so seriously.

they were asked about more secret characters, and as i recall the answer was no.

as to the version number code (rumor), which was reported After fight night...
if the final secret is a version code then whatever, i kind of understand why, if it is tho...

the version number is a throwback to the arcade machines.
in the arcade releases of MK, the version number of the machine told you if the glitches were fixed, or if all the fatalities were available.
arcade MKs were released incompleate, without all fatalities and lots of unknown glitches.
every few months upgrade chips were installed, updateing the version number, and slowly compleating the game.

to get the version number on an MK ARCADE machine,
you would shut off the machine by throwing the switch located on top of the cabinet, in the back left (player 1 side) corner.

turn it back on, and it will display a system check on the monitor.
at some point during the reboot it will display the version number.
(you may need to hold both start buttons, i can't quite remember... it did somting, it might be just to skip the system check and go right to the reboot)

this is the only reason i can think of that they would include this in MKDA, out of a sense of nostalgia, but why would there be differant numbers? it was said that the code reveals differant numbers on differant coppies of the game... why?
judging by the strat thread we are all playing the same version. and anyway, ive never seen the code posted(trust me i watch) and i never read anyone say they had seen or done it.

anyway, with all the things they said deffinitly were NOT in the game, unless it has some bearing on actual gameplay, i don't really care what the secret is.

just 2 things, one is a correction, the other is a point:

Correction: when they were asked if there was any secret character other than Mokap and Blaze, they said we had to keep playing to find that out (I specifically remember that, see the transcript if you don't believe me);

Point: in console games, there isn't much of a sense about making different versions. While in the case of the Arcades, Midway produces the outside shell and the game's motherboard separately and then change the motherboard for the corrected versions of the game, in console games that doesn't happen because most glitches are caught before it gets out, in longer testing periods than the ones for Arcades. Also, home games are usually mass-produces, which means that usually they usually don't touch the product after its production started. In some rare occasions, they take it back and correct some glitches and bugs, but usually that only happens if they are very usually noticed. The fact that some MKDA glitches only happen in some consoles could be due to 2 things: flukes (we never know when the adversary will float...it's probably a random mistake) or hardware versions, aka, the version of the X-Box/PS2. As far as we know, the only 2 versions out there are NTSC and PAL (which we know is different since it doesn't have, for example, Frost's Infinite Combo).

by all means hope,
i just wanted us all to be clear.

besides, they never said they'd tell us what the secret was anyway.
you could be pressing buttons and re-opening BA, RA, KA, in the krypt from now untill the end of time.

i just wanted everyone to know the facts before they get all fired up to crack the big secret.

ps. yep, i was wrong about what they said about another secret character... they didnt say no, they were just cryptic in the response.

You know boon and the rest of the team could have just been lieing to proctect the secret, you dont no if they actually told the truth, if its not the hidden passageway, another character, or another fatality, then what would it be, i mean if its anything else, it would problly be of no use at all.

This is the thing, we don't know. I mean, for instance, people have found fragments of animation code for stage fatalities. The "it didn't make it into the final version" excuse could be a lie to protect it. Heck, it's like my mom finding extra question of homework and me saying, "oh, no, the teacher told us to hand those in the week after since he didn't complete that part of the lesson this week".

Quite easy to lie.

You are soooo right! I mean, they could have been lying all the time...it's a lie for good. Ok, maybe the game was rushed, but there a couple of things that are basic in mk games, for instance the cheat menu. Maybe they couldn't include a new brand final boss, maybe they couldn't add the rippin clothin at all, but they MUST have put in some kind of secret, I mean real secret, not just those bastards blaze and mokap( which btw happen to have all the features as the rest of characters but the fatalities, which really makes me think about it a lot).
I think a pit fatality, a good one, would make people very happy (and now flame me for just wanting blood and fatalities)

i nearly did a stage fatality the other day, on the acid bath level, i was fighting as kenshi and when it said finish him! i telekinectically threw scorpion across to the side of the arena just before he fell in the acid that stupid blue forcefield saved him.

This is my stance on the last secret situation.

If nothing else great comes, then, well, too bad, it's still an awesome game in itself, if something like stage fatalities get announced out of nowhere, I won't be *too* suprised, at least not as suprised as some other people may be.
