It's pretty simple really. Just like any other boss. Just handle him like you would your normal MK subboss. Big combo, dodge, big combo, dodge, repeat. Plus you've got the added bonus of the komidogus surrounding the arean. Hit into one of them and you'll cause extra damage to him when you hit him while he's down.

What I do is when the fight begins, open up the move list. Find a good combo. Block, use combo, block, use combo, rinse and repeat.

Good tips... I find also using your weapon is a good method if you can
anticipate to block properly after hitting the Kamidogos - and move up
and down in between hitting the kamidogos to make some upward punches.
Also, weapons were the key strategy I found to defeating Scorpion 300%-Heal
and Mileena 300%-no block from Edina.

little combo sidestep special move kamidogu, special move repeat over and over.

i found a very very cheap way of beating onaga....just do barakas down, up, X special.....works like a charm

That's not going to workd for every character.

he said the character doesnt matter....i could sit here and write a book on how to beat onaga but i think itll be easier to just do a three button special several times

Yo! First time posting.. thanx for this thread I was curious as well about how to beat the DK. Been playing this awsome game with some friends the past 2 nights. One friend bought it, now two of them has it.. I'm gettin it this Friday or so. I think i'm addicted.. heh

1. Open moves list with whatever character you have and go to the very bottom of the list. Then memorize a style branch combo.
2. Soon as match starts back dash into a kamidogu and use style branch combo on Onaga while he is weakened.
3. Repeat step 2.

Fuck all that noise. Pick Baraka and do that thing where he slices up and down over and over again. Onaga literally walks right into it. Easiest win you'll ever have.

Another very easy win is repeatedly doing Liu Kang's bicycle kick. Does a pretty good amount of damage, even without hitting the Kamidogus.

Another great tip is, get to him with your best character, press start and choose player select and pick the one u want the ending for.
Another few tips:
Set the rounds to win to 1. so you dont run out of kamidogu.
Set the difficulty to novice... that should be a given.
And also:
Dont grab, or try to hit him onto the spikes. hes too big haha :D
(theyre all newbie tips but its true)
Another tactic, is go to options and choose round time 20 seconds, and just dish out damage as fast as you can and then duck and cover when you have more life. its kind of a gamble but turns to be in ure favor alot.

You know, you don't have to lose, you can just press Pause and hit "Player Select".

This boss is just to simple.On every difficulty mode the way to beat him is the same and simple.Pressure him and you cannot lose.

I try to find a 2 or 3 hit combo that knocks him back slightly so he can't grab you as soon as you miss or he blocks it. if you connect with it do it again he doesn't recover fast enough.
if you end up in a corner with one of the kamidogo things grab it and do a big style branching combo.
-that's on medium diff... gonna start on hard today. noob-smoke is where I have the most trouble they piss me off.

Best way,go after the komidogu,and unleash quick combo's.Thats what I do,you should always lure him towards the komidogu.So you dont have to run towards him.Have him there,strike the komidogu,unleash a quick combo,go for the next.I suggest some weapon combo's,that can't get you caught if he blocks.

Single most important thing to remember when fighting onaga on any difficulty level is the sidestep. its that simple even on max, stick, move, stick and move.

In trying to get all the endings, I'm forced to beat Onaga with characters I never usually play as. Same thing happened the other day when I was getting Ashrah's ending. I discovered something pretty strange with Ashrah, with which I beat Onaga in about 15 seconds and a flawless victory.
Ashrah's Chicken Leg move (foward and B on the Xbox) in her first style does insane damage for being such a minor move. I just stormed Onaga with this move over and over, didn't need any Kamidogu and only blocked and sidestepped once or twice. I don't know if the high damage this small move does was intentional or a mistake, but either way it makes for a sure win on Onaga for people who just want to beat him already.

Yeah go with punches, move around and then go back in again.
