No no. YOu say there are "obviously" more than 24 characters because the ones confirmed don't appeal to everyone and people say: "Sonya, Cyrax, Raiden, Nitara, Mavado, etc etc etc; have to come back!, so there will be more than 24 characters!"; that's not obviously, it is actually a sad thing, just people that cannot accept there will ONLY BE 24 characters(+hidden) and many of their favorites will be left out.

Face it, there is nothing obvious about being more than 24 characters; that's just a simple rumor. The official info says there will be 24 playable characters and I think that's what you should take for sure. About the deceiving thing, Boon said it was "Just Kidding."; and the reason for the name: "Deception" has been already announced(apart from the story itself) and it has to do with Konquest, check the news in the front page to know.

Oh yes, I really work at Midway for the MK Team. Yes, I have so much time in my busy day programming fatalities and such, that I can spend the majority of my time on here spreading rumors. Yeah right. People who are working on the game work all day almost everyday. I highly doubt they have time to sit down here and make up rumors. They leave that to some of the morons here. They might and probably do watch the boards to see fans opinions, but I doubt they post. I do consider myself as an insider because I have a family member that works on the team.

I'll just say this, we won't be decieved until the game comes out. The things confirmed are confirmed, not lies. Would it really be smart business wise to promote all these new things for a game, then they not even exist? Simply put, no. Boon and company know how to satisfy, thus they are smart business men. If you don't think so, compare the money you have in the bank to the money Boon has in the bank. Anyways, I'll leave it on this note: Trust the MK Team, they will not disappoint you or lie. The thing about there being more than 24 characters, isn't far from the truth though.
