Well, I’ll start by saying that the Sub you are talking about was not in Mk1. That was the evil Sub, the actual Sub arrived in Mk2-MKDA.

Now, Mk isn’t Mk without the originals. The main characters are a very important elements in the series. They are simply a must! I can see why some dislike Cage, but his story problem can be solved! Other then that, he is a great character. A classic.

Sonya is the original chick! This has to be the most important female fighter or earth warrior after Liu Kang! Mk wouldn’t be Mk with out her.

Same for Rayden and Scorpion. They are both strong elements! We need them. Look at Scorpion! He is another great fighter with an excellent look but with a lame repetitive story! But still, that can be changed.

So, I say, if Mk6 comebacks with out the main originals (Rayden, Sonya, Cage and Scorpion), it just wouldn’t be right.

Those seven characters in MK1 are the originals of the series. They're the originals and best. Take them out and it'd be like removing MK's foundations. The series started with them and it should end with them.

becose there were in mk1 dousent means that they have to be in the end why woudent they dei or yust be gone for a few games

So, what do you want? A game of all new characters? I think it's okay if a couple original characters sit out for a game or two, but, as tgrant said, it should end with the ones it started with.

Did someone say that this was going to be the last game in the series though? (I'm not being rhetorical, I really don't know if that's been said or not)

I think that there are always characters that should return, and MK1 & 2 has had the best characters of the series IMO, so some of them should be back.

I agree though that some of these characters are getting stale. I still like all of the originals, but for many of the characters, it just seems like not much ever happens with their storyline. I have to say that I was sick of the Kano, Sonya, Jax thing by MK3. Adding Cyrax and Kenshi didn't help matters.

MK will be MK as long as it has the same title, new, unique, but familiar to fans gameplay, fatalities, etc. If EB and company would just come up with some good, quality new characters, then I can go for a while without ALL of the MK1 characters. Keeping 2 or 3 of them is fine, while keeping a few from each of the sequels, but I play games to get a new experience. MK:DA was close to that, and perhaps with some newer and better characters it'll be even closer.

I think Jax has outlived his relevence to the series. At this point, what is Jax but the other, less attractive, and less relevent Sonya? He's done.
I could stand to lose Kano, too. The man's a bloody cockroach. Could he just die already?
Hsu Hao, too. I know he's only been in one game, but that was more than enough. He can go away with Jax for all I care.

I couldn't care less about Johnny Cage. If he's in the MK or not; I won't lose sleep over it.
Liu Kang can stay dead.
Scorpion and Sub-Zero are MK's franchise characters. Like them or not, they're here to stay in one form or another.
I like Rayden, but I do miss his torpedo.

Personally, the only characters I really don't want to see gone are Scorpion and Kitana. I couldn't care less about the others.

bad, bad, b@ckfire . Man what is wrong with ya, taking out subby, scorpy, rayden, shang,kano, and reptile. Man some characters could step out for a little while like mentioned earlier, but to take them out completely could be insane. Mk wouldn't be MK without the core characters. Sorry but I must disagree with ya on that one.

Get rid of Jonny Cage 4sure, that dude is seriously shit! I wuddnt mind seeing him in MK6, but only in the intro being brutally murdered. All the other originals was kool, dont 4get Reptile was actually in MK1, at the bottom of the pit level. Remember??
