Perhaps in one map which has many onlookers, something like that first arena in MK1, with all those monks watching, perhaps in MK6, you could have something similar and as the camera angle works it's way towards the fighters, you see all the older asian monks squabbling over coins, arguing(betting on the victor). That's one thing i found quite funny in the movie Blood Sport, seeing the people squabbling over bets of the victor. Also, at the end of a round, you could hear certain parts of the audience cheer after the completion of a round, then, if the character doesn't finish with a fatality, you can hear the entire crowd roar with cheers.
