In this thread we discuss characters that have been overlooked even though they have massive plot and gameplay potential.

Shao Kahn: The biggest one of them all. Drop the whole boss thing and make him a normal character with his own story of revenge. This is the perfect time to tap into his potential because he could have some killer kombos, amazing outfits and badass moves. Keep the taunts and sledgehammer please.

Frost: She has so much potential in the MK story and is definitely one of the most favorable MKDA characters. I still think she should strike a deal with Sektor and turn cyborg on us.

Sareena: With Quan Chi all over the place, what an opportunity to bring back the bitch and let's not forget Sub Zero's new position. An alliance between her and Frost is also JUICY.

Drahmin: He seems to have an interesting backstory and if he indeed restored his body using Quan's sanctum then I would kill to see what he has to offer.

Sheeva: Now that Goro is dead, Kintaro too - Wouldn't it be nice if this Shokan returned as Kitana's protector hoping to avenge Goro's death by killing Noob Saibot!!!

Quan Chi: This guy is like a walking fountain of potential. His story is ever changing and he is just SO FUCKING COOL!!! Never die!!!

Kung Lao: Yes it's true, now that Liu is dead, Kung can take his rightful place as Earth's chosen warrior and try to avenge his boyfriend by seeking revenge against Quan Chi.

Reptile: Wouldn't it be cool to find out that Reptile is controlling the Dragon King instead of the other way around?

If you think about it, pretty much any character can have huge potential if their story is played out right.

But Sheeva is dead. More so than Kintaro. If Goro can't come back, neither can Sheeva.

Anyway, I think Kabal could have a great storyline, as a force for good, yet conflicted by an evil past. He could have his conflict with Mavado, and if Kano is dead, maybe he can do with the Black Dragon what Sub Zero did with the Lin Kuei. B Probably not though, as it would be too repetitive.

Quan Chi: no doubt about it, give him the living weapon and the leg beat up fatality plus some of his MKM, MK4 moves and you have a kick ass character.

Kung Lao: if they give him kick ass combos and a better weapon(like a japanese spear) plus some new moves, he COULD become the most popular character in the game.

Sareena: I love her look, good storyline potential with sub-zero

I agree with almost everything you just said except for the last paragraph. Kabal is dead, even more so than Sheeva. I really hope they don't bring him back.

Mavado defeated Kabal, the game never says, iirc, that he killed him.

A robot Frost ...... I actually think she would look so cool that way. I love the idea. Some people wouldn't like it that way though , because then the game would be having a lot of robots (wich I don't mind). And yeah we need Sektor back !!!! Cyrax was dissapointing in MK:DA. His bombs were the most useless moves in the whole game !

I think the most untapped character is Johnny Cage himself. The guy has been an actor for 5 MK's now. He's got an awesome look, sweet moves, killer combos, and kick-anus fatalities. But the guy's story is getting pretty weak, if Midway is going to focus on reinventing anyone's story it should be Johnny Cage's. glasses

I don't think Johnny Cage has any potential now. I honestly he should've stayed dead after MK2.

My bad about Sheeva.

As for Cyborg Frost, she could be a new model, she would look different and besides that the old droids are getting boring with the same look over and over again. Sektor needs a new look definitely. Cyrax is nothing without his ultra-cool net.

Shinnok possibly had the most potential, and turned out one of most worthless characters ever. He was an insane god, for crying out loud. A former Elder God on top of that. He should have at least had more unique attacks.
