I seen exactly what u'r talkin abt. and I'm guessing the same thing. At least we hope so; it wouldn't be right if they didn't!

There's no reason why it shouldnt be i mean all the work that goes into making backgrounds why would they only have it in one mode of the game.Theres no reason why it shouldnt be unlockable in the krpyt.

Yeah I mean they can add ONLINE PLAY to the game and no lag (from what I've heard) and set an entire stage up to work with chess, if the stages aren't in kombat that's just pure laziness, but I have faith in MK devs. Plus what the video showed (the zoom up and not saying "xx took the square").

i agree they are just wasting a great stage by limiting it to one mode, i have to play chess to whoop someones ass in the acid bath.

there is no way i believe they would be stupid enough to recreate all those classic stages and use them only for chess mode. even in soul calibur 2 you can play all the stages from the adventure mode in all other modes once you unlock them. with 400 koffins i am sure some of them unlock the classic backgrounds.

I think at 1st they are only 4 chess.. then u can ubnlock them and use them normally..
I thik that during chess the don't have traps... cause there is a pic where the acid pool ihas a chess board-like floor, and there is no acid, while there are other ics where the dead pool ha normal floor and acid on the sides

Yeah you're right. I hope I can play some MK2 portal (maybe this time I can knock a guy into the portal as like the stage fatality)
