You specifically mention UMK3, which is really the least specific representation of MK3's creative direction of urban apocalypse, and MKT's iconic representation of a 'greatest hits' compilation. Presumably Armageddon has already fulfilled the latter, but it still might help if you were to specify what you're talking about.

I'm personally not that fond of MK3 and tend to regard it as one of the more specific departures for the series. I'd say most fans would agree it isn't nearly as iconic as either of the first two MKs, so in that respect, I'd guess it probably isn't the most likely approach for MK8.

Then again, the promise of a fresh start might be argument for exactly that.
The urban sensibility might be the way for MK revamp the human [ie; Mortal!] element of Mortal Kombat by bringing the fight back to a more relatable urban setting.

Possible, but I still wouldn't think it likely...

Man anything MK is cool with me. I love the sinister violence and bloodshed.I hope they include more of a shaolin monks system myself. I thought that was the best damn thing ever. The way you could improve attacks by buying upgrades using exp points rpg style while kkeping it real action adventure style was great. MK MYTHOLOGIES:SUB-ZERO AND SHAOLIN MONKS were my favorites so far so any part of those games to be used would be great in my book! TOASTY YALL!

I hear ya. The run button was gay and would be a useless addition in MK8.

Although, off topic, I particularly liked MK4. Light years better than MK3. Just my opinion.

MK3 was actually my introduction to the series. It came out around the same time I started getting into video games, and I played it and was hooked on the series. It was so bright and colourful.

I would not like to see them take the steps backward, though. It was a great installment with a great story, but we don't really need a repeat.

Yeah the best games for the run button were UMK3 and MK GOLD. Too bad they haven't returned since.

I like the run button, but sometimes I love going back to MK2/MK1 without it. It depends on the mood I'm in when I play MK. So to me, it's not a fact.
