Sorry, man, but it looks like Cyrax is out for the count on this particular game. There doesn't seem to be much hope for him.

I wouldn'tsay that. He has been getting good storylines in the past games and he looks better than ever. I think he will be around again. Trust me. ;)

It's not impossible for him to return, although I strongly, strongly doubt it. With Smoke returning(although not a cyborg), and Sektor as an extremely high possibility, then not only would it be highly unlikely for him to return, but also very unecessary.

Unecessary? He was a big part of the storyline in MK:DA. How could you just dump off a storyline and a good character like that? If they bring back all those old ninjas and unwanted people(Tanya) than why not Cyrax? A lot of people like him and he can fued with Sektor and try to stop him, but then end up being captured and used asa hostage to lead in the special forces members for the kill. I think it would be more than necesarry to bring him back. His storyline can go with a lot of peoples or just his own. Sektor was hunting him in MK:G, doesn't he have to continue his mission?

What was Cyrax's real storyline in MK4?

One source tells me that Sonya and Jax rescued him from the desert and made him human, so he decided to side with them in their journey to take down Shinnok as well as side with the USSF and OIA.

Another source tells me that the Lin Kuei rescued Cyrax from the desert, but there was something wrong with him. He seemed very different. Nevertheless, they had to send him out to kill Sub-Zero again since their forces were drastically low. However, just in case, they sent Sektor with him too to report on whether Cyrax did anything crazy. Sektor's reports would determine if the Lin Kuei would off Cyrax.

I mean, both stories are believable and canon, but which one is true?

I strongly agree that he was a good character with a good story and had loads of potential. I never meant to convey that he was worthless. And to an even stronger extend, I agree that Tanya is one of the worst characters ever.

But yes, I do feel that Cyrax needs to sit out a game. He has a good story and design, but he's not the only one. Plus, with the Tekunin(sp?), Sektor deserves a return for ONE game, and Smoke's story(which i rather like), had been on standby a bit too long.

That's, IMO, why bringing back old characters like Smoke and Kabal is a con. Guys like Cyrax, with beautiful storyline developement are left out of the game.

Smoke and Kabal has the most potential for good storylines. Cyrax is gone. Nitara probably sent him somewhere besides Earthrealm and may be dead. I don't like Special Forces members anyway besides him and Kenshi anyway. So Cyrax's story sucks since he is in the Special Forces.

How do Smoke and Kabal have more potential than Cyrax.?

Smoke:
-Sub-Zeros friend
-Was cybernetic
-Ninja
-Sektor is probably returning

Kabal:
-Was Black Dragon
-Vigialante

Cyrax:
-Special Forces
-May be someone new (Orderealm)
-Tie-in with Vampires
-Might have some of Dragon King's aura
-Being hunted by Reptile (possibly now Reptile might have more power to hunt)
-Cybernetic
-Ninja
-Sektor is probably returning

I like Kabal's open possibilities. Supposedly when MK3 ended, he became kind of a Batman of sorts, going around giving crime a hard time all the while lurking in the shadows.

And the last we heard of him, he and Mavado had a scuffle and Mavado won and took his weapons.

So, I like Kabal's storyline.

As for Sektor's storyline....well, last we heard of him, he went to Japan to recruit ninjas and convinced them to undergo the same automation process he did to transform them into cyborgs. He called this new clan the Tekunin, and soon they began to take over all of Japan. Whoa, god knows where that could lead....kinda scary really, but also stupid. I mean, he takes over Japan? That's pretty corny. At least to me. But who knows?

As for Cyrax....I dunno. They need to breathe life into his story, as MKDA was just an interesting journey rather than something that would enhance his character.
