Has anyone noticed, Chess Kombat is rediculously easy while Puzzle is near impossible?
I started playing Chess Kombat today, and won it easily, so I increased the difficulty to Hard. The game was still too easy, so I increased it to Max, and yep - it was still much too easy! There's no challenge in occupying both the Power Squares, and when you do your energy is totally refilled each round while the opponents is nearly always low! Once you're on both Power Squares they power you up so much the computer has no hope in Netherrealm in claiming them, so you can stay there all the way through the match! I got 3 Flawless Annihilations today on Max difficulty and I haven't even looked at a FAQ or practiced! I didn't even realise you could use magic until recently!
As far as Puzzle goes, the first few matches always seem far too easy! It seems like every time I'm about to launch a massive combo the computer just dies anyway and my forward planning ends up being pointless! I find it almost impossible to build Sindel's Arrange during the first 4 matches!
Once you get to Scorpion the game suddenly becomes rock hard! Once you beat him you get Baraka who in near impossible! It doesn't matter how you play with these guys they always seem to be able to regularly drop about 60 blocks on your screen and kill you instantly! I had to lower the difficulty to Easy and Baraka is still pretty cheesy! Once I finally managed to beat him I was rather disappointed in the ending (wasn't worth the effort I put in). It would have been nice at least if, say, you could unlock Onaga upon beating Puzzle.
Speaking of Onaga, where is he? I know he's in the game (seen him in screenshots, heard him mentioned), but I've never seen him appear in Puzzle once! I always seem to get Baraka as the last opponent, if he wasn't do darned difficult you could be forgiven for thinking the programmers only put half a game into this mode!
Still, gripes aside, I absolutely love both modes! Since Chess is so easy I'm using it to rack up hundreds upon thousands of Koins! I now have about 15000 Koins of each kolor thanks to Chess (you can beat most opponents in about 3 seconds if you pick Baraka as your Grunt! )
Does anyone else think the difficulty is weird for these modes? I was expecting Chess to be hard and Puzzle to be easy (I'm usually good at Columns type games, but Scorp & Baraka whip my ass)
