Who knows for sure what more Midway might decide to do with the MK franchise, we'll just have to wait and see. An MK Kollection with all of the older games might be nice(I'm not counting the Midway acrade treasures, I mean an actual collection of just MK games).

I think if Deception does well then MK will definitely continue...I wouldn't be surprised if they announce that they're working on MK7 within a month after Deception gets released. I think it has to end at some point, but as far as future installments go they will hopefully continue to improve. It had an all-time low with MK4, began to pick up with MKDA, and I think that Deception will be another huge spike in the MK evolution. Can it get better from there? Maybe...but it can also go on a downward trend again. Time will tell. As for me, this will likely be the last MK I ever play...I'm graduating college, I have my career ahead of me...I haven't had time to play a good game in almost 3 years. Final Fantasy X and Legacy of Kain: Defiance were the last games I've played...its unfortunate but I gotta move on with my life...so this is why I'm hoping that Deception will be fantastic...one last hurrah. And if I still care about vg's by the time MK7 comes around, maybe i'll snag it. But I don't think MK7 will be out with this generation of consoles...probably the next gen.

Of course Mortal Kombat can still have life after Deception--as long as the MK team wants to keep breathing life into it. There's endless possibilities with everything. And I believe as long as the fans demand more Mortal Kombat that there will always BE more Mortal Kombat--enough said.

I agree, MK wont be ending anytime soon i dont think. As long as it makes $, they will keep pumping them out. MK has grown in popularity, now even more so with all the Deception hype. Dont fret, more will come.
Shang- I understand where your coming from. I thought the same thing, about fearing to lose interest in vg's... more specifically MK. Thankfully, that fear never took place. I went to the USMC right after I got out of high school. I thought I was never going to play a MK or any vg for my whole four years. I did. Wherever I was stationed at, Japan specifically, I ended up playing MK against my fellow brothers in my division. After I got out, I finished up college and my fascination for MK returned to me. I bought all the past MK games I missed out on and everything turned out ok. I mean they are only video games. Understandibly, I went through different circumstances than you, but i highly doubt even with your career ahead of you, you wont play MK ever again. If you like it that much, that fascination never really leaves you. Just play it when you got time, or whenever you got nothin to do. Worked for me...

I too grew up with Mortal Kombat.
MK1 came out when I was 12 years old, now I am 25 and still playing the game.
I said to myself that I would eventually give up video games one day, but at this point I cant.
They mean WAY too much to me, especially Mortal Kombat.
Regarding Deception, I dont think it would be wise to rush another Mortal Kombat out RIGHT after 6, they should wait until the new systems launch. Get everybody good and hungry first, then debut MK7 on PS3/ XB2/ Nintendo next.. You know, the 256 bit generation that is coming.
This console generation is almost over.. The new systems will hit late 2005 -2006, and when u think about it, we only have 1 and a half years maximum left for this generation.

MK has OFFICIALLY regained its momentum after MK4. Theres nothing that can stop this train now.
