I think they will be different, because ps2 and x box games will end up looking different.

They have different standards.

I hope midway makes it possible to play others if they have a different system, but the chances are slim.

Personally, I liked the Soul Caliber II conquest mode ranking system for the arcade

if something like that could be incorporated into a console game, it would make a lot of people very happy indeed

sc ranking system

-4 teams
-several players on each
-4 different stats
-ranked on wins and losses
-A.I. takes over your character when you were away from the game
-top ranked players are leaders

of course, mkd's would have smaller teams with more competitive gameplay, with a more developed story (hopefully)

I think they will have a ranking system, and probbly for both systems.

But, if it was not for server and service reasons, they could have the two consoles face off against each other. They might even lower the quality for online games to lessen lag, as in a fighting game it's pretty important to not have any lag. that's why it sorta seems outa site for 56K but you never know.
