MK has never been about fatalities only!
They sure have been a very nice addition to the game though.
I'm not that upset that there is only 1 fatality per character, however no stage (pit) fatalities is a little disappointing, but i am over it.
Everyone else should also get over the fact that there aren't any more fatalities, nor anymore secret characters.
What! 23 characters not enough for you? Geez! Most fighting games have many less playable characters than that

Well, actually I think mk always had to do with fatalities, at least with explicit violence. Back to mk1, it was a normal fighting game, with the peculiarity that its characters were digitalized, which contributed to the game look more real, but nothing more; cos in terms of gameplay it was quite limited itself, with no more than 2 or 3 for every character, no combos... not to mention that by that time, it was street fighter that ruled over the rest. Well, my point is that it was when people started to see those characters rippin heads off, burning opponents out and so that mk really hooked people. It was a never seen before feature in videogames; that's how mk got so popular: kids willing to play it, parents willing to ban it. Thanks to that, boon and company got very rich, and could make mk2 so damn good, including that time not only 1 fatality per character, but 2!! and more pit fatalites.
This is why mk was and will always be attached to fatalities. Take them out and you will have a great game, but not a supreme game.
