In Deception every character should have their own special counter attacks, like an oponent is attacking Sub-Zero then Sub-Zero grabs their attack with his hands freezing them. And from there you could start attacking your opponents. What do you think?

sounds like a good idea, it could also be a new form of a throw, eg. noob could stop there attack, keep hold of the other chracter and a clone of his could run over from the other side of the screen and kick him away.

grin would be different from a lot of other games but it shouldn't be too easy to do as a lot of n00bs would use it to often making it incresingly annoying.

Yes I do. Snake would feel more authentic with counters.

Although the idea is good, I'd have to say no on this one. This is simply because it would eventually be cheap as hell. As things are now, you can simply counter attack on your own. All it takes is the right timing and you can block a combo, throwing in your own immediately after. That keeps things more fair.

I personally do not like counter-attacks in any fighting game.

If you let your guard down then you deserve to get hit by a move. I just don't like the idea of being hit, and then somehow reversing it to damage the other player. It's like the losing opponent in that situation is actually the winning person on that particular manouevre.

I do think that combo-breakers are a good idea however. But this is only to prevent from more damage happening. It shouldn't inflict any damage on the person doing that attack, it should only stop the combo and that is it.
