The MK team said they were trying to develop new ideas since MKDA, which explains why most of the characters don't have their old finishing moves. Besides, they've been done to death (bad pun), so it's nice seeing something different.
Scorp's HK is fine, IMO - simple and to the point.

I like scorpions hara kiri. I think, it's better then many other hara kiris.

It is sort of true that some new ideas are there, but also not realy. If so, we wouldn't see Scorpion doing Sub-Zero's MK1 Fatality. Tanya's Fatality, and Dairous Hara-Kiri are exactly the same. Ermac's Telekinetec Massacre Fatality is in there. So is Kano's Heart Rip. Plus a few others from the past. What I am saying is that the old Fatalities are still in there, just passed to other fighters. So some of them aren't realy too new, and some are. That is why I think they could have done something a little better. I do like Deception though. I have nothing bad to say about it.

His fatality with the spear and neck snap sucks as well. I mean, I love Deception, but there are fatalities and hara kiris that could have been done way better.
This is a spoiler to those who haven't seen all the hara kiris yet. So lemme just warn you in advance. Look at Shujinko's hara kiri. You can't die from having your arms just chopped off, unless you lost way too much blood. Kenshi's hara kiri, he just stuck his sword into his side. It's possible to die from that, but suicides should be a little better than that, in my opinion at least. Some are done a little too fast and some are just way too obvious (baraka - head chop; kira - stabbing herself with her "dragon teeth"; mileena - stabbing herself in the head with her sais; smoke - it was a fatality in the 2-d days; havik - ripping off his head, which confuses me cuz he's got a move like that and he doesn't die from that). Look at Nightwolf, both his fatalities and his hara kiri involve his tomahawks. Fuck it though, I don't even bother doing hara kiris cuz the computer finishes me off way too quick. I can only get them done if I'm playing against someone and lose, unless they do a fatality on me first. I'm glad they didn't give Bo' Rai Cho a stupidass one where he dies from choking while letting out a horrible fart. His doesn't look that bad; spontaneous combustion (well, it was forced but whatever) is pretty cool. Dairou's is pretty painful, looks pretty cool but his scream goes on for too long. Darrius has a cool one. It looks as if they couldn't think of anything for him so they just gave him this but I like this one. Kobra's sucks. They stole Kano's fatality and gave it to him (with slight differences), and now he's got a similar hara kiri. I like how in Li Mei's they don't even let her scream. Tanya's is pretty bloody...and blood is always good...so that one's pretty cool. The whole hara kiri idea was pretty good though, even though some of them suck (and so do some fatalities but that was the same case in DA, think quan chi lol, and back in the 2-d days

I just can't believe that they gave him the (SPOILER!) old hotaru's neck snap...really...I was in my friends house and I was at konqrr's list showing him just the ones that were previously released...the he asked me to show him scorpion's hara-kiri but I was like "no way...I wanna save that one to the game" but then he saw it anyway and I couldn't help myself so I looked...I was like "WTF?!!?!" I was soooooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed...I mean, the harakiri is fine but it doesn't fit scorpion at all...I was expecting something like a spear through the head or a self toasty....geez BOON...if you see this...hire me as a fatality creator...

I think it's pretty good... but I think they shoud have exchanged his and Hotarus.
Hotaru has the neck snappin fatality... give him the neck snapping hara kiri
Scorp has the head rip fatality, give him the head rip hara kiri!!! sounds logical to me...
You are not gonna give tanya's hara kiri that matches her fatality to Ashrah!!!! MAKES NO SENCE!! I like the idea itsef, it's snappy (no pun intended), effective, and fun
