Since MK6 will be online, imagine if you could download stuff like new costumes, weapons, more characters, other fighting styles etc for the game..
That would be hot.

Hmm online content for MK6. I dunno how they might do this. Would they actually try to take advantage of each system? I mean like since X-Box live is all broadband users, will they get bigger content (file size)? Will GameCube need its own server (Since N doesn't care for online gaming. Oh well, I won't be the one having to do suputu)? Then there's PS2, with people not having hard drives and not all having broadband?
What I'm saying is that we could endup getting a online system that works for all. What does that mean? Well its gonna be crapped down. Heck, we might have to pay for online service (thank you big N). What if they just give online support to PS2 (Stupid Tony Hawk)?
Yet who knows, we may be get it taylored for each system, then X-Box users get the good stuff. I'm not trying to start a system war, but X-Box does have the best online service (and I've tried them all).
I'm really not sure whats gonna happen with this online thing, but we need a horse's mouth to tell us. Hopefully Boon and Co will not screw us.

If they updated the game for free that would rule. Merry Christmas, here is an extra board. We updated the features, just download. That would be cool.

I hope MK6 will be online for all the systems but it probably wont.Lately I noticed that alot of Midway games are only online for PS2:
NBA Ballers
NFL Blitz Pro
NHL Hitz.
Why are all of the games only online for PS2?Downloadble content would be cool I wont have to worry about getting download content online though.OXM's demo disk have a download center and hopefully if MK6 has add-on content I'll be able to download it no problem.

That would be dumb to just make online compatibility for PS2 and NOT Xbox, when Xbox live is the most successful online network.
The only system that MIGHT get shafted is the Gamecube. And it would be their own fault.

I agree with KombatLord. I am 100% sure MK6 will be online for PS2 and X-box. I also have a doubt that GameCube will sport online support because of their history of online games which are less than few. I guess if Midway wanted they could do extra content for the xbox version either through xbox live or the OXM because of the harddrive. They could also do the same thing for the ps2,but then it will require people to pay extra for the harddrive. Anyway, so you guys can guess which version I will be getting

Think about it like this:
Splinter Cell for Xbox lets you download an entire level for the game from XBL.
Imagine the applications for that in a fighting game. You could add new stages, new fighting styles, new characters, weapons, and even... new fatalities!
I would use this as a model: Make the downloads FREE, but you would have to put in a special code from your copy of Mortal Kombat 6. To ensure that the only people that could get the downloads are people who bought the official copies of MK6.
Use the downloads to enhance the game, so that the next Mortal Kombat will not be rushed.
This way, it could be a way of making upgrades like the arcade had. Version 1.0, Version 2.0, etc.
Do this every 3 to 4 months, see what the players like and don't like, and then make the next game even better based off of that.
My dear, it just wouldn't be fair!

Something that could be neat is if they include an editor of some sort to tailor the pallette of characters outfits or something similar.
Customizing stages and adding in hazards even that could be altered by players and shared.
People could then possibly download custom coloured outfits and stage layouts from fellow players that say upload them to a server that is hosted by Midway themselves and could be downloaded and saved to memory cards.
Doubt they'd go too in-depth for an editor though, as that would eat up a fair amount of time from developing the main game itself.
Downloadable challenges wouldn't be too hard I wouldn't think though...an altered character in terms of speed and damage output as well as AI that the developers did up themselves that you could save to memory card to play against could be neat.
(the main characters and models being on the game disc itself, just the basic routines would be downloaded for the character making dialup or cable both viable.)
