now that it is way easier to pull off a fatality, do you think it cheapens the experience? it used to feel like you accomplished something and was rewarded with the fatality animation. believe it it or not, sub zero's mk1 fatality was very hard for me to perform. when I pulled it off at the end of a heated third round battle,I was jumping up for joy, elated, cheering, etc. I was only 10 at the time. i'm just currious as to what other people think of the easier fatalities

who cares? as long as I get to see the fatality...ok, I wouldn't mind a bit more hard to pull fatalitys...something between mkda and mk1

I think its a stupid idea. There not hard at all. The only Fatality I had trouble doing & never did was Liu Kang's in MK4. And I could'nt do all of MK1 and MK2's Fatalitys cause the Genisis controler sucked.

Although the new system is easier, and i do like being able to pull off fatalities quickly but I think it does sorta cheapen the experience as said before. I liked the feeling of Satisfaction after quickly tapping in the right buttons and seeing the screen turn dark and sonya turn her opponent into mush with her buble kiss.

i think the hardest fatalities to perform were in MK4. but i like how you have a fatality stance, so you don't have to hold block or release a button at this time.
the next mks should stay like this.

I bet they wont be hard, becase we're all experienced MK players now, we can pull it off like it's almost doing a long sequenced special move but with a time limit. But yes, when I first played MK1, I was around 8-9 too and I had no experience so of course it would be hard to perform them. Oh yeah, I remember having trouble doing fatalities in Sweep distance. I kept ending up kicking the opponent down, at least in MKDA, fatalities were in anywhere distance. They were very easy in MKDA, probly the same in MKD.
I like a faced-paced fatality right when FINISH HIM appears =)

I like them being easier. I've never really had any trouble doing fatalities, besides the odd hard one here or there (somebody mentioned Liu Kangs MK4 one, that took getting used to). So all this does is make it quicker and cuts out some of the fucking around, the fatality would've been done either way, but I'd rather take the simple way. Pure lazyness is my excuse.
I don't think it cheapens the experience at all. They'd have to be difficult in the first place for it to feel rewarding, which they aren't (it's a few buttons pressed in a row, not brain surgery). Fatalities are eye candy, not some great skill to be proud of. So why not make them even easier?

It makes no difference to me, i'd rather have it easier though. I'm not 12 anymore, so I don't ge excited about fatalitites anymore. I stopped getting excited for fatalitites after MK 2 except Sub-Zero' "head rip" in MK 4. So if I pulled off a complicated fatality(which I don't see them that way anymore) I wouldn't feel like I accomplished anything. I beat the guy in Mortal Kombat, so Fatalitites should be easy to do.

MK2 Kung Lao Hat Slice was the hardest fatality to ever perform if you think its easy go and try it. Also was the best fatality of all times just think if it was performed with the graphics we have today. But todays fatalities are so much easier today its like 3-4 directions you have to press then one attack button...back in mk1,2,3 it would take about 7-8 directions...i even think they added more time to perform the fatality....odd

The commands to do them have to be easy. If they were 10 button combinations, well, that would just suck. Besides, with Hari Kari moves now involved in the game, its a race against who has the fastest fingers. They have to be short inputs.

Nothing quite compares to the giddy thrill of doing the Kintaro morph Fatality on an unsuspecting opponent. I doubt anything ever will.

I don't jump with fanboy-ism to often, but fats are so lame now. I mean, not only are the inputs easy as hell to do, but you can do them anywhere. It's just ridiculous. I miss the days of aiming Lao's hat. I miss how fats were distant specific. I miss combo fats. I miss "real" pits and the easter eggs that go along with them - hopefully we'll get some in D. Yes, it does take away from the "real" fat factor. It's lame, scruby and just plain lazy.
I'm sorry, but the day a gamer can't judge sweep distance and press four directions and a button is the day they need to stop playing and become a sperm donner. Because that's all they're good at; jerking off.

it wasn't the combonation that annoyed me it was the stupid distances, 3/4 away, sweep, outside sweep distance. other then that it was fine, but i like it the way it is now.

Aye, I loved that one. Just your opponent knowing that you held the button for that long, limiting your options. It was great.

I think I missed something, are you all talking about one button fatalities, or just the fatality button? Sorry I just read this thread and not much else

No offense, but in MK1, there were no Fatalities with 7-8 directions (unless you count Liu Kang's, but thats different). Scorpions was only Up Up !
As for Kung Lao's Hat Slice, it was tricky for me the first couple of times, because after the 3 forwards I ended up too close to the opponent. The hardest fatality for me was Scorpion's scorpion sting in MK4.

I want the distance back.Close,Sweep,Far,1/2 screen.Have people become that lazy to where they can't do these anymore or something? That was one of my biggest dissapointments with MK:DA.There was nothing like playing someone and they couldn't pull off the fatality in time because of the distance or button sequence or they jumped trying to press up and forgot to hold block. Now you have a fatality stance and a easy movement.
