Midway seems pretty set on making him as much of a normal human being as possible, despite his storyline, by befriending Kenshi, by the way he looks (You figure a composite being would be mangled.) But I guess that's their perogative.

Damn. They should make souls come out when he gets badly injured. Maybe red blood but still have souls come out.

I like the idea of souls coming out. He can bleed, but souls would come out as a power diminish. The same should happen for Shang.
