The 5th it will be in stores

I still think its going to be the 4th. Y all of a sudden would they move it back 1 day. Every other site has the 4th. Iv even called a few stores and they said they will be putting it out on the 4th.

any1 have any clue if comp usa will have it? when i asked they didn;t know.

ship date is not the same as in store date.. the date it will be in stores is the 5th.. the date that when the company ships it out to the stores is the 4th..

OK, I just called my local Gamestop and they said that it is very likely that they will have it on the 4th. The person I spoke with said it depends on whether they have the boxes shipped to them or they go pick them up. He said it was likely that they'll go pick them up because of the high number of pre-orders. I'm assuming that by picking them up he means that they will drive to the distribution center instead of waiting for the boxes to be delivered. You might want to call your local GameStop to see if they might do this in your area (I live in Columbus, Ohio). Hope this helps.

Im calling Early on the 4th... and Late at night. Around 8ish.

Late afternoon/evening of the 4th will be the best time to start calling places. It will probably vary from store to store depending on the amount of pre-orders they received. Also, ship date has equaled in-store date on several other occasions.

I was told could be late the 4th or the 5th for sure so just have to call and see.

The following is just a general rant to everyone. It's not meant to offend or berate anyone specifically, just to vent my frustrations to the public, and hopefully spread some insight. Again, I'm not trying to flame anyone, I'm merely airing grievances...

Jebus H Christ, people need to stop acting like they have any friggin' clue when it will actually come out. I don't know, you don't know, nobody knows, stop pretending you do, end of story.
Some places say the 4th, some say the 5th, and I and others have even seen a few that said the 1st and the 6th. And ya'know what? WE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHICH IT IS.
Now you may be tempted to say, "Well the official site says the 4th, so it has to be the 4th" to which another may be tmpted to say, "The ship date is the 4th, so it will arrive on the 5th" And ya'know what? You could both be right or you could both be wrong!
The date seen in ads and websites is only that, a date. It doesn't say "Release Date" or "Ship Date" it just says Oct friggin' 4th.
And ya'know what!? The date on the X-Men Legends website said Sept 24th. Do you know when my and many other Gamestop's got it? Sept 22nd. A full 2 days ahead of the release date or ship date, or whatever the hell that speculative date was intended to be.
The dates that game companies put on these games are approximate. For all we know it could be at your Target on the 1st. The companies may wanna kick it out early, get a little money a little sooner. Who knows?
And no, just because your gamestop guy told you that the 4th was the "Ship Date" doesn't make it true. Gamestop only knows what the company tells them, and automatically adds a day to cover their own asses, just -incase- any potential thing in the release goes wrong. A late truck, a lazy stockboy who didn't do his job, anything. This way if they post their date as the 5th, and you complain on the 4th, their asses are covered.
The 5th is merely the 1st day they can -guarentee- it will be in. Sometimes trucks don't arrive until late in the afternoon, so though it will likely be there the 4th, it may not be if you go there in the morning. So by saying it will be there the 5th, they are in effect again, covering their asses.
So in short, you don't work for midway, so you don't know, so stop pretending you do. What you believe to be the date isn't necissarily it. Your best guess doesn't make it the truth.
All we know is it will arrive sometime in the 1st few days of October. Most likely around the 4th or 5th. But I personally would advise you to merely stop in and start checking stores around the 1st, and also check this board to see if anyone has the game yet. This is the best way to figure out when you can in fact, get the game. Until then, Wait.

Well... when Da came out I actually got it a day early. Gamestop got it in early and decided to let those who pre-ordered it, go ahead and pick it up. Yes, the site says the 5th, it's entirely possible you could be playing it on the 4th though.
If you didn't pre-order, I would say the best bet is to expect the 5th. But, nothing concerning video game releases is ever set in concrete.

Well from years of games I know that there's a chance EB will call on the 4th saying it's in for preorders. If not, we know the obvious next day.

well my friends at gamestop, and toysrus says they might get in this weekend cause they always get games in early... they got in early the new xmen game, burnout, fable... etc... and they both have will have a copy waiting for me...

Well to be honest there is no exact date that the game is going to be in stores. Video games do not have hard street dates like movies and cd's do therfore they can really be on the shelves whenever the stores get them in stock. I used to work at best buy and we would get some games in as early as a week before it was supposed to be released, so it all depends on when all of the games get sent out to the stores. One more thing is that I had called GameStop to ship my reserved copy of the game to my school and they had said something about shipping it this weekend so I guess they are expecting it a couple days early, but no one knows for sure. The only way to find out is when it actually is out on the shelves
